We live in Upstate NY and just came back from Disney and are looking for a summer vacation spot for a 4 day long weekend. Are there are any places around all inclusive fun pool stuff with a drive less than 10 hours from Central NY?

You may find something like that in the Poconos. I've never been there, but we keep thinking about it.

How about Great Wolf Lodge in Ontario?

How about Niagara? Theres alot to do in that area including Clifton Hill -a street (more like an entire neighborhood) that has TONS of stuff including
-Ripleys museum
-the HUGE Skywheel ferris wheel by the falls
-there was an amazing Cirque show when we were there last year called Avia
-wax museums
-unique arcades

shoot theres alot more! Heres a link that gives info on the goings on in the area. Theres more to do than most ppl think! We always find new stuff to do (and old favorites) when we go to Buffalo to visit the ILs

Niagara attraction guide (http://www.cliftonhill.com/niagara_falls_attractions/attraction_guide/)

Also its very close to Six Flags at Darien Lake

Erie, PA. We have a large indoor waterpark - (Splash Lagoon), a great beach - (Presque Isle State Park), a small but nice amusement park - (Waldameer Park) with a brand new wooden roller coaster, Family First Sports Park which has a drving range, putt-putt, rock climbing wall, go carts, & bumper boats, also a casino (just slots and horse racing), a lot of nice places to eat, great fishing, etc. Erie is just over the PA border on Rt. 90.

I would have to second Niagara & Niagara on the Lake!

A few people I work with have been to Ocean City and enjoyed it, so much they went back a few times!

Niagara is great fun, but it was better when the exchange rate was in our favor.

I also live in Upstate NY. Here are my close...short drive suggestions.

Adirondack.s...There is Lake Placid with SOOOO much to do. We did a week trip there for 4 summers. Kids LOVE IT.

Another Adirondack trip I loved was staying at the Covewood Lodge. Might be hard to get in. No pool, but very Grossinger type of vacation. A total blast!! You have your own cabin/house. Goggle it and check it out....very beautiful and close to Old Forge and Enchanted Forest which is an amazing water park (30 something slides!)

You also might want to try in Lake George, the Great Escape Lodge (which is across the street and part of Great Escape 6 flags). Lots to do up in Lake George. The lodge is very nice and they even have characters. This 6 flags has story town from when I was a kid and the bank robber show (kids 10 & under LOVE)

Hope these help. I have done all of these and our family loved them. We try to do at least one week in upstate a year...much easier packing when you are driving!

Good Luck!!

We camped in the Lake George area and it was great there is a lot to do in the area fishing, they have a cruise on the lake, shops, canoe or tubing on the river, great food and just lots of interesting people
another idea would be Hersey park there's the amusement park,or in that general area also is dorney park another amusement park with rides and a water park , yet another idea would be the boston area there is a lot in that area historical things, aquarium, shops ,etc this is just some things of the top of my head

Another Upstate NY'er here. We've enjoyed a couple drives to PA, hitting Hershey Park and Sesame Place. Also had a good time, nice drive to Lake George. And on our trip to Darien Lake we did go a bit further and went to Niagara Falls as well. One time we took a ride to Virginia Beach, but I believe it took maybe 10-12 hours. But there are certainly lots of choices. Have a great trip. How about the new Hard Rock Cafe' amusement park in SC? I may try to get there to check that out.

I was initially thinking Niagara Falls too.

Another option, probably right at 10 hours is Acadia National Park in Maine. Very unique and everyone needs to get there at least once. Especially if you like lobster.

Or, have you ever seen a wild moose? 2 hours north of Toronto in Algonquin Provincial Park, you can usually see them throughout the year.

ooooohhhhhh... I second Arcadia National Park. It is a drive....but well worth it. In the morning on top of Cadilac (sp?) Mountain you get the first view of the sun North America. Then travel through NH and Vermont on the way home! Lots of great hiking and small towns.
