Day 3 Magic Kingdom!!
Yeah this is our favourite park, and like the rest of our days we get up early and hit the ground running. We have breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace for 8:25 so we get to the park early and enjoy a leisurely stroll down Main Street. I love going to breakfast before park opening. We check in and are seated quickly in a nice table to the right all the way against the windows overlooking the river flowing through Adventureland. A nice spot where we can keep Hayden calm and see when the characters are coming. We like this restaurant it isn’t to loud and it is nice and open. We have a great breakfast and some nice personalized autographs for Hayden from Tigger and Eeyore.
After breakfast the park has officially opened and our character expedition begins again. So we headed towards Fantasyland on our way to Toontown. By the Teacups we see Alice and the Mad Hatter, but the line was closed already, and we knew we would see them later in the week so we took a quick ride on Winnie the Pooh. This was the first time leaving Hayden in his chair for this ride and Eva said there were no issues at all, and we got some interesting pictures of each other taking pictures of each other throughout the ride since I had to ride in my own Hunnypot.
After the ride we make our way into to Toontown and to the Judges Tent. The lines were pretty long and after the night we had last night I did not want to take a chance with Hayden becoming overwhelmed so I asked the CM at the head of the line where the handicapped entrance was. (I knew where it was we had used it many times in the past with Hayden, but I always like to ask first.) She said there was not an alternate entrance that the lines were handicapped accessible. This was not the response I was expecting especially after the wonderful attention we received here last November, but I didn’t press the matter and we got in line, but it was just too long and we ended up jumping back out. We knew we would see all the characters in there at some other point in our adventures. I wanted to check out the Teardrop in hopes of seeing some rare characters that I keep hearing show up there, but after 30 mins we get nothing, so we head into see Mickey Mouse in his house. Now this time as we are heading into his house to go to the line out back the CM standing there notices Hayden’s GAC and escorts us through the garage and around the line so we can see the Mouse himself. Inside we are surprised to see both Minnie and Mickey together here which was a real treat and we have a great photo session with them. Hayden really liked Minnie this time and just kept talking to her. After meeting the Mice we head back over to the Teardrop to give Hayden some water and still no one comes out except maitence workers, so on we move out of Toontown and over towards the Castle for our lunch reservations.
We get to the Castle about 30 mins early for our reservation and the host tells me she cannot check us in until closer to our time. I say ok and we wander through Sir Mickey’s and Tinkerbell’s Treasures, but we don’t waste quite enough time so we wander over to Adventureland where we meet Captain Hook. On the way back to the castle we take the side walkway and run into the Fairy Godmother on the side of the castle with Cinderella’s fountain. After those two meets we finally get in the now long line to check in for our lunch reservation. The line moves fast and we see Cinderella and head upstairs. They show us to our table on the top tier this time (Yeah, it is really hard getting his chair down those steps, and yes they have had us do that before). We did not get our wishing star when we got off the elevator so I ask our waitress for one, she pulls one out of her pocket and I am so disappointed. They are now these dull blue eraser type rubber stars with the words “Wishing Star” screen printed on them. Just back in November they were large hard plastic with sparkles inside that react to the little wishing ceremony they have, these did nothing. Oh Well. Lunch was good we saw Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, and Belle (Blue Dress) all were great.
Eva and I agree that we want to see more characters first and then we will ride some rides, so we head down around the castle again towards Cinderella’s Wishing Well, I never knew this was here! It is quite pretty and we each throw a coin in to make our wish. As we head on around we see the Tremains in the area where Belle tells her story, but we had seen them the night before so we head on. We decide to check the Emporium to see if CaptJessicaSparrow is at work yet, as we promised to come and see her. We walk through the entire shop, it’s big, but don’t see her so we head to Town Square to meet some more characters. We see Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio, Clarabelle Cow, and Horace Horesecollar. Then we head over to Adventureland and see Rafiki, Timon, Peter Pan, and Wendy, Jasmine, and Aladdin. We grab a quick ride on Pirates of the Caribbean and then head over to the Haunted Mansion, and see the Country Bear Jamboree.
Next we hit It’s a Small World. Eva loves this ride and it is a nice way to cool off. We have our own boat, the handicapped one so we don’t have to wake Hayden up. At the end of the ride we strike up a conversation with Ty one of the CMs there and she notices that it is Hayden’s birthday so she goes over and gets a pad of paper and gives us a coupon for a free Mickey Balloon!! How cool is that!! So we head to Main Street to get Hayden’s balloon. We then head back over to the Emporium to see if we can find our long lost Captain. After looking high and low we have no such luck so we finally ask a nice man at one of the counters, and he had no idea who I am talking about. So he asks someone else and we describe her and they ask me her last name and I say I don’t know she goes by Captain. I get very strange looks then. Finally they think they know who it is, but she is on break and they tell me they will let her know we are here. The next thing we know there she is all out of breath from sprinting up stairs in ankle length skirts. We talk for a while and she signs Hayden’s balloon and we hug and she kisses Hayden and we then say bye for now since we have to make our reservations over at Chef Mickey’s
We hop the monorail over to Chef Mickey’s and again we are a little early so we shop some in the new Fantasia store then head over to check in. We get our photo taken and shortly after we are seated towards the back. Nice table fairly quite, but Hayden is exhausted and sleeps fairly soundly. The food was good, although our server was a little snooty, should have been working at the Brown Derby instead of Chef Mickey’s. The characters were great several personalized autographs and we had Mickey sigh Hayden’s balloon. We saw each character at least twice I think Donald and Mickey maybe three times. I kinda like having a late reservation here. It is quieter especially as the crowds thin out for the evening and with fewer people you get more interaction with the characters.
After dinner we hop a bus to Down Town Disney to pick up Hayden’s nametag we bought last year that we were having engraved at the Christmas Shop, since we were cutting it close to closing time I let Eva get Hayden off the bus and I made a bee line for the store. I didn’t realize the store was right there where the bus let you off, so Hayden and Eva caught up soon and we looked around the scrap booking store some then headed back to the bus stop for POP. The bus stops here are kinda confusing, but we got on the right one and were on our way home. When we got home we got our free mugs and enjoyed unlimited refills of frozen coke. We then went to bed only having to get up a couple of times to suction Hayden, but that is normal for him. This was a much better day. All though tomorrow at Animal Kingdom gets even better.
