Does any one know if the smoke from the fires in Florida are affecting Disney? I saw on the news that the smoke from fires in Miami can be seen as far as the Bahamas.

We were there in May 2001 when fires were all around the Disney area including on Disney property and many days the smoke caused a general haziness and you could smell it. People with breathing difficulties were likely impacted.

I have not heard of any specific impacts this year, but there are fires within a couple of hours drive of Disney, so I would think smoke/haze could be impacting the parks.

There have been at least 20-30 seperate fires down here just in the past week. Every day you could smell the smoke down here. It really wasn't that bad besides one day. I'm not close to Disney, but I'm sure you can at least smell something up there right now.

I'm at Disney right now (just arrived today). I haven't smelled or seen any smoke. We drove down I-95 and didn't see any fire impact at all.

When we left WDW on May 14th you could definitely smell the smoke in the air that day.

We were there the 10th to the 16th of May, and besides smelling a little smoke a couple of times, there was no big impact. It is raining in Tampa today so maybe it will head that way and solve some of the problems.
