I have an online friend who is pregnant with her first child. She and her hubby found out that the baby has a hole in it's head and it is growing.

The doctors are trying to be optimistic, but my friend says she can read between the lines. She's extremely upset and understandably so. :crying:

I have been crying my eyes out about it. I just feel awful for her. Please keep her in your prayers. :pixie:

Your friend and her husband have our prayers!! And some :pixie: too.

I have never heard of a hole in the babies head before but have had experience with a hole in the heart... also.... my cousin had a baby born at 1lb 8 oz with a hole in his abdomen and his intestines on the outside of his belly. Today he is a healthy 10 year old boy..... so continue being supportive and positive and continue the prayers because miracles happen everyday!!

I don't know how far along she is exactly, but I know she will have a c-section soon. She has gesational diabetes and they have been trying different things to control her sugar for the baby.

I'm so sorry.

You may consider mentioning to them an organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (website is the same name + dot org). Volunteer photographers do photo sessions at hospitals or hospice for families with babies that are stillborn or have very short lives. It's a tangible way to help the families remember their children. I don't know if they have any volunteers in her area, but they say they have volunteers across the country so it might be worth mentioning.

:pixie::pixie::pixie::pixie: Sending tons of:pixie: and lots of prayers. I know how hard it can be with a baby that one day has good news the next day bad. We had that with our daughter (our miracle baby) they could not tell us for the first week if things were going to be o.k. Even after that they said things would be very difficult. It is an emotional rollercoaster. I will keep her and the baby in my thoughts and prayers. Miracles can and do happen my now 14 year old daughter is living proof. Please keep us updated.

I hope Adiana is doing well, and that her parents are getting lots of pictures, no matter what may or may not happen.

They're gonna get a second opinion. Everything teh docs said would happen to Adi (that's teh baby's name) has not happened. They said she wouldn't be able to breathe on her own, she wouldn't be able to suckle, hear or see.....

Wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong!!!! :joy:

She's 13 days old now. They said she wouldn't make it past 7-10. :yay: Keep the prayers and pixie dust going!!!!!

I'm glad she's defying the doctor's expectations--I think babies are much stronger then we give them credit for!
