So I want to know what is the attitude of taking a piece of fruit from the buffet after a break/lunch or dinner? I know of and have seen several take a piece of fruit for later. Is this an acceptable practice or is is frowned upon? If you pay for a big meal but a child does not eat much can I take an apple or orange for later?

I don't know the official policy, but when we dined at CP last December, the young lass (age 9) with us didn't eat much. She was allowed--and encouraged by the CMs--to take what fit into a child's "to go" cup with lid. They suggested she break up her cookies to fit them into the cup.

I would ask your server at the time.

I would take a piece of fruit. Adults eat for 25 to 28 dollars and kids 11 to 14 dollars. A piece of fruit won't hurt their budget.

We have taken cookies and apples before and not a word was said...

While I certainly wouldn't load up a bag with food, an apple or two should not be a problem.

At several buffets, we have had waiters/waitresses tell us to take something for the road. While we have never "filled up" because we were already full, we have taken an apple or croissant for later in the day.

I wouldn't hesitate to take a piece of fruit or a cookie after your meal at a buffet. Your server will probably encourage it even. Don't worry at all.

I've seen other guests take bannanas and apples before. it's always good for later, while waiting in line!!:):)

I don't think a little fruit or snack is out of line. I would think that lining your pockets with ziploc bags might be too much, but......;)

I don't think it's a problem to take a piece or 2 of fruit, cookie, etc.....as long as you don't have "ziploc-itis"...which we have seen a few times. It amazes me at how some people can just tear out the ziplocs and stand there and fill them up!!!
We usually take an apple or banana for our DS's for later.

I haven't seen many people eat uncut fruit during a buffet. I would take the fruit and not worry about it.
