POR - Good for convention in DD hotel?

Hi everyone. I'm attending a conference in November being held at the Buena Vista Palace hotel near Downtown Disney. I'm planning on staying at a Disney property so that I can get the dining plan. I've been looking at Moderate resorts and Port Orleans seems to be the most convenient to DD with the choice of either a bus ride or the boat ride. Am I missing anything here, or does this seem like a decent plan? Also, is there any reason to chose Riverside or French Quarter other than the different theming? Thanks.

That sounds like a great plan - Port Orleans is very convenient to DD.

I prefer POR a little more then the FQ only because it's offers a bit more then FQ.

The boat ride from POR to DtD is great...I dont know much about the FQ but we love Riverside...You are also closer to Boatwrights...It has the best breakfast...All in all you really cant go wrong with either...:mickey:

Thanks for the replies so far. I've gone through all of this planning in my head ... it's good not know that it at least makes some sense to other people. :)
