Just back from AKL villas

Just got back and have a couple of things to share with you all regarding our first DVC experience as owners. We staying at a 2-bedroom lockout SV.

First, we had friends stay in a studio with our discount. They HAD real glasses! (without request).

We still had to pay for computer...not sure when spring starts, but I guess not yet on their calendar ;)

We got a DVC discount at HS at the Studio Catering. It is not in the Perks book yet, but the cashier saw on our room key that we were DVC owners and said we get at 10% discount. She said it was brand new.

We were not bothered by any constuction, but could see it from our balcony (I wouldn't call it a view, but you could see it if you looked right)

No one seemed to know where the Trash room was...we asked DVC, maintainance and the front desk. The DVC people in the lobby talked to the manager and was told to have us call if we needed trash picked up. (we had night time diapers in the room and wanted to dispose of each day)

We loved the free movie rental....that was a great little perk we didn't use until the last night when Grandparents babysat.

All in all we were VERY pleased with our first stay "Home". Can't wait until next year!!

Just wanted to reiterate that most of the DVC properties have restored glasses and mugs to the studios.
The only WDW resorts where you will have to ask are SSR and OKW. That's because they do not have dishwashing facilities at the outlying buildings yet. They plan to install a glassware washer in the housekeeping area for these buildings.
AKV, BCV, BWV, VWL all have the main resort attached with restaurant kitchens, etc. They can handle the washing of the glassware.


All in all we were VERY pleased with our first stay "Home". Can't wait until next year!!
