Grand Floridian Gingerbread House

Does anyone know when the gingerbread house usually goes up? We'll be in Disney 11/8-11/15 and I know we'll probably either just make it or just miss it. My mom's never seen it but she always talks about it so I'm just curious if we'll get lucky!!

It should open the same week as MVMCP at MK and Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios which will both start 11/10/08. I am traveling the same week as you this year and held my breathe until they annonced the dates because the lights and the gingerbread house were 2 things I really wanted to see. We were there last November form the 8th-16th and it was already up. We bought pins from the little store in the gingerbread house it was so cool:mickey:

We were there the first week of this past November and actually saw them setting it up. It was really neat to see as the contruction people are doing the framing while the pastry people are putting the gingerbread on. We got to talk to the head chef and even taste a little sample (I didn't like it). I think it went up in one total day. They were really working hard.

I was looking at my pictures from our trip this past December and the picture of the list of ingredients says it opened Monday,November 12. The hours were listed at 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. It is really neat. Your mom will love it!

From what I've read, it used to go up around Thanksgiving, but seems to get earlier every year. By 2015, you should be able to see it around the 4th of July. :rolleyes:

It is beautiful, though.
