Is it a beautful day or what? 66 degrees with a very lite breeze. Only 1.5 more hours until we can close then I can well go to dinner with the family. Not too bad I guess for a Saturday.

Tried to win some pins on eBay that was how bored I was but got sniped at the last minute. Drives me nuts. Thought it would have been a good buy.

Kind of quiet around here today, but if it's like it is here I can fully understand. So on that note, have a good rest of the day. :D

Happy birthday, Chelsea!

Jym, the only thing missing from your list was talking on the cell phone! C'mon, get with the program! ;)
I had to leave the phone off so people would think I was asleep.

Need input. The University of TN is going to offer the International Sommelier Guild Diploma program, designed to take certificate sommeliers to the level of accredited sommelier. I'd love to take this course, however, it's one full day a week for six months. Is that too much time right now?

How soon does it start? How much overlap with baby to be?

Ellen your plans sound like fun. T & G Happy Birthday to Chelsea!! For ideas on Mothers day that's pretty tough as magically all the girly stuff doubles that day. Does she like to garden? Perhaps you guys could plant a bush or a tree together?

It is 9:00 AM here and so far I've taken everything OUT of the fridge and scrubbed it.

Why did you scrub everything that was in your fridge? ;)

Well its DD6 birthday!

 Happy Birthday Chelsea!!

Since my DH and DD16 are at a bowling tourney in Washington today, we are celebrating tomorrow. So I want to so something special with the Birthday Girl. Anyone have any ideas??

Happy Birthday Chelsea!

Sorry, had to sleep....

When are you going to get your new patio furniture? That sounds like fun!

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday. Is it a golf day for anyone?
It was a golf day for Dan... he's on his way home from playing 9 holes. I'd think it'd have been too chilly, but .....

Is it a beautful day or what? 66 degrees with a very lite breeze.
I just noticed you're in Michigan - do you mind if I ask where?? Dan and I lived in Grand Rapids for almost 2 years, and my SiL and her family live in Northville. I'd love to get back out there and go up to Traverse City and Mackinac Island! We stayed there for our 1yr. anniversary... :cloud9:

I don't think so, and if it's something you might not get the chance to do again anytime soon, I'd go for it. One day a week isn't too bad.... any room for some Upstate NY'ers??

How was everyone's Saturday? Mine only just started about 2 hrs ago, so it's good so far... just picked up Julia from a friend's house and am starting dinner. I woke up feeling like I'm getting a pretty good cold... can't quite tell if it's allergies, too, or not, but I'm taking the Echinacea anyway. Hopefully it'll go away as fast as it arrived!

Okay, I'm off to think of something creative to do with the chicken... see you guys later!!

Jym, if it's something you really want, one day a week doesn't sound like too much. You just have to decide: will this one day put a kink in everything else at your house? Good luck with your decision.

I'm orginally from Royal Oak (south of Detroit). Small World :D

So the funniest thing just happened. I decided to give the kittens a little bit of wet food mixed with some formula since they seem to get hungrier quicker now. I didn't think they would know what to do with it so I put it on a big paper plate and sat down on the floor with them. Oh my goodness, they went crazy, eating it, steping in it, smearing it on their faces, it was hysterical. Now they're a mess. :D I'm gonna give it a couple minutes and see if they lick some of it off of themselves, but then they will probably need baths and some serious sanitiation. They are funny little ones. So I guess we've progressed to regular food. I didn't think they would be so easy! :cat:

Carol, what kind of store do you own/work at? I'm very interested in what people do for a living. I know Blythe is a L&D nurse, Tom is in insurance (ducky AFLAC guy), and Greg is getting a free trip to WDW to interview for a recruiter, but what about everyone else?

I'm a manager of a fabric store....the biggest fabric chain store in Canada. Its a small store of 4500 sq. ft. It really helps when your obcessed with what you sell..fabric since I'm a quilter!! :D

We looked tonight for a short time after dinner and we'll finish up tomorrow afternoon. We're trying to find something we both like. :secret: I'm trying to talk him into a gas grill also.

I think one day a week would work. I would think now would work better than later. Trust me, it only gets more difficult the older kids get. What does Rachel say? If she's OK with it, definitely do it.

Today has been fun. Since we weren't celebrating DDs birthday today, I still wanted to make it fun! So we went to Build-a-Bear, and she made a Panda, named Patty. Then to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream. Then to Ceramicafe to paint pottery! She painted a treasure chest bank (blue, green and purple). We pick up our masterpieces on Thursday. :D

Also, DD16 came in 3rd in her tourney - adding another $250 of that all important scholarship money AND entry into the National event in Henderson NV in July!! So all in all its been a good day!!

So for Mother's Day, I plan to give my mom a Mother-Daughter shopping day :shop:- with lunch :eat:included. We both love to shop, and rarely have the chance to do it together, so I am going to take a day off work and make it happen. What is everyone else doing for their mom's??

What is everyone else doing for their mom's??She's fine with it, anything that will get her into more wine tastings. You don't get invited to much with the first two levels of certification. With the diploma, you start hearing from local distributors and restaurants. I'll be able to add Wine Fundamentals I & II to the JQU curriculum.

No I don't mind. I live in a very small town called Linwood, right on the Saginaw Bay. Just 20 minutes north of Bay City. Remember the Bay City Rollers? I'm dating myself there that's for sure.

I used to live in Rochester Hills, north of Detroit about an hour or so. I actually went to high school with Madonna's sister.

I love Mackinac Island, after Walt Disney World, Mackinac Island is my favorite vacation spot. I've got some photos up on my home page from the Island if anyone is interest.

Try pushing your thumbs into the bones near the base in the back of your skull for about a minute. ( Sort of an accupressure thing) This is a trick my chiropractor taught me. I hope it helps. If not, you might try caffiene.

Of course, you may be suffering from Disney- withdrawal, right?

I hope everyone sleeps well and has Disney Dreams!:sheep::pixie::pixie:

Desserts - everything
Food - everything but Singapore
Wine - everything - no ice wine before noon

Events: Do Not Miss, whatever you do, even if you have to take out a loan, do not miss Party for the Senses. It is a Grand Tasting complete with Cirque performances, top vintages, and the best chefs around.
Also, if you can swing it, do an exquisite evening.
I'm not a big fan of the wine schools, they're a little elementary. But I highly recommend the verticals, especially the one at California Grill.

Hmm, look at that, we were really north of Detroit! Learn something new everyday. :D We took our Spring Break to Frankenmuth (I know lame) and drove into Bay City for liquor, bad girls that we were! I haven't been "home" since my nephew was born in 2002, maybe this summer. Everybody been having a fine weekend so far, except for the stray headache or two? By the way, for the non-sinus variety of headache, I've had luck with relaxing my shoulders and taking deep breaths.

I'll be ushering at church tomorrow and then DW and I will be heading to DD2's to celebrate Mother's Day with the grandlittl'uns, so to all of our mother's in JQ and I'cot, Happy Mother's Day!

:secret: Even though I'm from Canada, I'm not too crazy about ice wines. They are WAY too sweet for me. I've taken cooking classes at our liqueur store and with a lot of the desserts they have served ice wine. The classes are food and wine pairings. I'd rather have chocolate grappa...yummmmm. After one class, the class coordinator(a friend of mine) had me making her Victoria Falls Mists. We just pulled the liqueur off the shelves and I mixed away. The chef and some staff were also drinking with us.

Anybody else having thunderstorms? It's nasty outside right now.We had some bad stuff yesterday, a little drizzly today.

So, my mom wants to go to a local Chinese place because my grandmother likes it. But I'm like, "Hey Mom, you know this place got a 37 on it's health inspection?" That's right, a 37. Now, don't get me wrong, those health inspections have some nit-picky things on them but 37 isn't "mop bucket too close to food prep area"... 37 is "dead body too close to radioactive waste". So, I'm thinking maybe the airport Hilton. The food's good, I get a discount, and they have a wine list with "r"s in it. "You want Losa Legale Bluchetta? Vely good choice".

Every bit of my extra money goes to Disney vacation. Why do I have to pay all these bills when I could be using that money for Disney World???
You know, I was wondering the same thing -- think we could get a petition going?? :D

I'm going as a pirate and Gilles is going as something really scary...himself.
:rotfl: You're not nice... Give him time... maybe once he sees how much fun you're having getting your costume together, he'll change his mind.

Okay, gotta run off to bed now -- I hope you've all had a WONDERFUL weekend.... can you believe it's almost Monday already???

Coffee'll be on for the am... and some crepes, if anyone would like some... (we made a lot...)

Hey gang, just got back a little while ago from DD2's house (about 2.5 hours each way). We all went out to Chili's for Mother's Day dinner and somebody stopped by the table on their way out to compliment DD on how well the kids were behaving. Needless to say, DW and i have had a good granyoung'un fix today.

Everybody rarin' to charge into Monday? Nah, me either. Nighty night.

Actually, I pay for cell phones, tuition, clothing, cable, internet, home phone, medical copay, groceries, gas for vehicles and insurance.
Jerry pays for the house and the electric bill and his fishing tourneys.

If we go to Disney, I pay for it. and Disney is getting the squeeze this year, so far. As soon as Amy gets enough hours, she can begin work, that should take some off me.

Jym, do you need another driver....dispatcher...car shampoo girl? something?

Good morning all.....

Did everybody have a good weekend ??? And did all the Mothers get treated like Queens ???

We went to church yesterday and after, we came straight home and I fixed home fries with onion and peppers and a veggie omelet for Patti.

We went to Sears and bought a new gas range for the house to be delivered tomorrow. Then we worked in the yard for a while, spreading mulch and trimming bushes.

Last night I made her bourbon /teriyaki steak and grilled fries for dinner and I done all the kitchen clean up.

I have a lot of work to catch up on and will be out of the office for most of the day.

One more thing.... only 32 days until we can start making ADR's ! :D

Needless to say, DW and i have had a good granyoung'un fix today.
Glad to see you had a great day for Mary..... oh.... and you too ! :D

Sounds like you guys had a great day!!

Nope... but I'm glad it's here, as it's (supposedly) CLOSING DAY!!! Think good thoughts and send lots of pixie dust our way... to add to the insanity, our furnace stopped working sometime b/w Thurs night & Fri morning, so we're trying to get someone out here to check it out this am BEFORE we become the proud owners of the 55 yr old thing!! (Sorry Ken & Pogo... I'm sure you are both MUCH better at your age than this is!! I'd never call you 'old things'... at least not that you'd know... :thedolls:)

Good morning all.....

Did everybody have a good weekend ???

Good morning :) Yes......it was fun and hot :sun:! I went running at the beach, watched lotsa tv, went to St. Augustine, got my hair done, had Mexican food, was treated to a lovely meal by my beau (homemade foccacia and wedding soup), baked blonde brownies (made plenty for this crew as well), watched more tv - couldn't have been any better :cloud9: (except longer of course). I'm glad to hear that everyone had a great weekend too and I hope all the moms enjoyed their day!:D

No good stories for you Emily. Just another work week here, with maybe an extra day off. I'm debating wheather or not to take a sick day on Wednesday. I have people coming to the house to finish fixing all the little things that still need to be done.

Does anyone have any cookies this am?

So, how's this for faith in the belief that everything works out the way it's supposed to?? The guy from the heating company just left, and if we'd have closed on time, we'd be sitting here with a bill for $592!! :faint: The "aquastat" on our furnace needs to be replaced, which apparently is the "brains" of the whole thing!! So, we contacted our lawyer, and he said yes, this definitely falls under the category of something that the owners are still responsible for... I'm faxing over the copy of the bill so he can get it to their lawyer, yada, yada, yada. Phew!! :whew: I'm sure that the owners may want to negotiate something, and I'd be willing to (I think...) but at least it's not something we're having to cover completely at this point.

Never a dull moment, 'eh?? :D Keep that pixie dust working!!

How was everyone's Mothers Day? We got our furniture for the belcony, something small but very nice. We also bought a couple of plantd that'll go outside when it gets a little warmer..lavendar and catnip. One to relax me and one for Mittens. I think I'll buy more herbs when it gets a little warmer.

UH, are you sure you haven't already gotten into some herbs? So just what is a belcony and plantd?

Hope everyone had a great mother's day. My day was really slow at work, so that made for an extremely long day.

I have been disabled since 2006 and have only helped out here and there at my wife's costume store since then but I am like you that if I have to be at work I would much rather be busy rather than sit around waiting for something to happen!

I'm going as a pirate and Gilles is going as something really scary...himself. I can't convince him to wear a costume. :( I only have the fabric to do my shirt so far. I was going to wait until closer to the trip to finish off the costume because I can make it as a store display and that way it doesn't cost me anything!!! The fabric for the shirt a a summer fabric and it may be gone before the summer is over.

You just tell Mr. Gilles that you know someone in the costume business here and that my family needs to eat just like his does.:D:D Even though you are not buying here anything that helps the industry as a whole is going to help the small mom and pop stores like ours!

Oh the joys of home ownership! I am sure that anyone who has owned their own home for any length of time has one horror story or another to tell of unexpected large expenses! That is why we pay our homeowners insurance and pray that nothing too awful bad happens. That is also why it is important to keep good relations with your local insurance agent so they can go to bat for you when you really need it!

So have any of the rest of you seen the reports of the huge earthquake that happened in China in the last few hours? Apparently there are at least 9000 dead and many thousands more missing! When you read things like this it makes you want to go home and hug your loved ones because they can be gone sooo fast!

Ironically enough I was watching a program over the weekend about the construction of the new stadium in Bejieng (sp?) for the up coming Olympics and they were talking about their concern of a major earthquake happening while the stadium was full because that whole part of the world is so earthquake prone.

Let's all say a prayer for those that are hurting over there!

The closing has definitely come & gone!! Whoo hoo -- we are now the proud owners of our own little house here in Marcellus, the better news being that we don't still have to move!! :D Everything went very smoothly, we got $$$ back for the furnace -- all of it -- so that was great... and somehow, we managed to come out ahead on the $$ we had to put down, too!! Not quite sure how it happened, but seeing as it gave us some extra $$, I didn't question it, and now am about to get our plane tickets for December!!

So! Yes, I am having a rip-roaring great Monday.... got my house, celebrated with Dan over a  at a pub downtown afterwards... unfort., I have to work tonight, so the really celebrating will have to wait for the weekend -- but it's over, it's done... and I'm thrilled!! :cloud9:

Thanks for all the kind words, pixie dust and listening (okay, reading...) you guys have done over the past few months... you guys rock, and it's been great to have you here to vent and/or celebrate with. Where would I be w/o my JQ crew???

Hope everyone's having a good beginning to their week.... Jasper, I saw your post about China, and you're right, we should be saying some prayers for them... b/w that quake and the cyclone, there's been a lot of bad weather news out there, and there are a lot of hurting people. Makes me all the more grateful for what we've been given.

Sigh... okay, I've got to run... my girls are home and needing some homework assistance, and I've got a few things to get done before I head off to work.

Jym wine with Chinese food?
Don't fear the hard pairings. Unless you're eating something really rich (like Peking Duck or anything in Capitol sauce), a sweet reisling or gewurztraminer goes with most standard Chinese foods.

If we go to Disney, I pay for it. and Disney is getting the squeeze this year, so far. As soon as Amy gets enough hours, she can begin work, that should take some off me.

Conan just belittles everything he doesn't understand. It's very annoying. I normally don't watch his show but when I saw Gary Vaynerchuk was going to be on, I tuned in. It was kind of disappointing.

When I met Rachel, she told me she didn't like wine. As a general rule, when people say that, what they really mean is "I haven't been introduced to the right wine" so I made her keep trying them. Riesling is the first wine she would drink and admit to liking which is good 'cause it's pretty cheap. It's still her favorite I think which is good 'cause it's pretty cheap. She's been on a beaujolais villages kick lately (pre-preganacy) which is good because they're, uh, pretty cheap. She says she wants "that Cabernet from PftS" after the baby comes which I hope she forgets about 'cause it's pretty un-cheap. (For those still shopping for the baby shower, that's Silverado Limited Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa '97. There are still some at the vineyard. Tell Russ it's for me, he'll hook you up. ;) )

Do you remember the riesling you loved?

:pixie: for all in need! Deb -- I have never thought of you as being even remotely snippish -- You're a peach!

Home with :ack: DS4 yesterday... he finally stopped late afternoon. Harry came in second doing Shot Put at Track and Field yesterday. He goes on to the area finals next week! :clappy:

I like Pinot with Chinese -- and some tea....but I'd rather have Indian thanks.

What's going on in JQ then? Any brownies to go with those blondies?

Howdy Jenn :) I finished up the blondies last night........I've got some regular dark chocolate brownies with white chips all ready for today. Hope your son's feeling better and that's neat about Harry, he must be strong. :lift: Does he take after you? :)

Congratulations Harry !!!!

I hope Euan feels better. :(

YEA!!! so happy for you and that things went smoothly!

My Monday has been pretty good. My receptionist is back from vacation so I got to get caught up on my work this morning and have a relaxing afternoon.

Kittens are doing well, almost eating mushy food, the one hasn't quite figured it out, she still wants to slurp the food instead of bite it. They are both coming along pretty good.

I should be around later. Not sure what DH has planned for this evening, but I know I need to clean up the house big time!!

Talk to you all later

Sarah Sarah! Let's hope Rhonda's still partying from her b-day...I don't want you getting into trouble again.
:hi: Sarah....... Are you taking after me ???? I forget questions all the time ! Want to borrow one from me ????

Howdy Jenn.... that's neat about Harry, he must be strong. :lift: Does he take after you?

Hey, how's everyone doing? Been kind of busy around here.

I got my airline tickets for both August & December, flying with AirTran again, they have the best times, so we can be in the parks the day we fly out & in. Plus the fare wasn't too bad either. Also my MVMCP tickets came in the mail as well the other day, so am I excited? Yes.

So on that note, gotta run again, back to work.

Tell Russ it's for me, he'll hook you up. ;) )

Oh, you are the slick one aren't you? I see how this works - you get her hooked on the cheap stuff and then that means you can afford the expensive stuff for yourself! I knew there was a reason I liked you!!:D:D

I have to make jokes about alcohol because with the cocktail of drugs I am on for my back and other health issues I have not had more than a sip of ANY alcohol for something like the last 8 years or so. I never did drink heavily or anything but a Saturday afternoon beer every now and then or a glass of wine with dinner every so often was a nice touch. Actually I do thank God that I never was a heavy drinker both because of the impact alcohol has on people's lives but also because it made it easy to give up.

Home with DS4 yesterday... he finally stopped late afternoon. Harry came in second doing Shot Put at Track and Field yesterday. He goes on to the area finals next week!

Oh man, that is just horrible when you have to use a perfectly good day off work to tend to a sick one! Here's hoping it is just a 24 hour bug!!

Oh, and congratulations to Harry and tell him good luck next week from all of us!

Howdy Jenn :) I finished up the blondies last night........I've got some regular dark chocolate brownies with white chips all ready for today.

So, can you send some of those this way? I can't share in the alcohol but so far they haven't said anything about cookies or brownies!:cloud9::cloud9:

Okay, you all need to sit down.... I can't even believe I'm typing this!!

Dan called me when I got up... he went to play at a charity golf event today, and he :party2: GOT A HOLE IN ONE THAT WON HIM $15k!!!!!!!!!!!! :party2:

:woohoo: :joy: I CANNOT believe it... I just about :faint:!!! He didn't even warn me or tell me to sit down... he just asked me what I thought a hole in one was worth and I was so focused on the fact that he got one that it wasn't registering there was another part to what he was trying to tell me!! I am still in shock... I know, I know, we won't see all of it, the government will take a chunk, but STILL!! Holy Moly!! Talk about a great way to wake up... I told him he has my undeniable permission to go play as much golf as he wants the rest of the summer, no questions asked... I think I am still in shock, and waiting for someone to wake me up!!!

Do you remember the riesling you loved?
That's cute about Rachel... I've always liked wine, but never considered myself any kind of "conniseur" (sp?). I know what I like, and none of it has been too pricey, thank goodness!! But -- as I was shown by that wine I fell in love with, you can get spoiled if someone gives you something that much better than what you've gotten used to!! The wine I really liked (and had to order online, as it was just too expensive around here...) was German, Joh. Jos. Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spatlese, 2002. YUMMM!!

Blythe, it is good to see you on HangMan!

I am working on getting my attitude back under control.
Have I seemed a bit snippish to some of you lately?. If so, I'm sorry. I'll just blame it on too much to do, too little time and toomany hormones to balance, or mabe it is too few.
You???? Snippish??? Not at all!! I can't even imagine it.

(I've been off the Games Threads for awhile, but it's felt good to get back a bit!)

I have my first golf meeting of the year today ! Do you think I'm working too hard ???

I last checked airfares yesterday and it would have cost us another $30. Buy as soon as you can afford.

Not at all!! As evidenced by Dan today, it could even be profitable!! Who knew!! :D

I guess I can now, right??

Home with DS4 yesterday... he finally stopped late afternoon. Harry came in second doing Shot Put at Track and Field yesterday. He goes on to the area finals next week!

Hey Jenn!! I hope Euan's feeling better, and a big CONGRATS to Harry!! That's awesome!! He's turning into quite the athlete!!

Okay, I've got to run... Dan wants a celebratory pizza ordered and I've got a few things to do before work.

I'll try to check in with you all again later!!

WOW!! That is just too great!! I haven't played golf in a lot of years because of my back but when I did I never got anyplace close to a hole in one so I can't begin to imagine how great he has to feel about it!! And as for the government taking a big part of it just be glad that there was something there for them to take in the first place!!!

Do any of you know what officially turns 50 years old today? If you stick around I will tell you!

So Blythe, is that worth an upgrade on the trip to WDW in Dec or another trip to WDW or put onto the house? I think for me it would definately put on a upgrade or toward something at WDW. You need to be up here, that money would be all yours with no taxes!!! :D

Ever have one of those days?

I did and it was today!:(
Suddenly at 12:00, I was asked to supervise the cafeteria, watch another teacher's class and attend a meeting to plan field day - all this while I was supposed to test students.
Hey, I know I'm good but calls for maximum pixie dust!

Good night Irene!

How's everyone doing around here? I read back a bit...hopefully I'll get the new laptop for work and be on line again sooner rather then later. Got to admit it's just bizzare to not have a computer during the day. Can not reading 100 plus emails a day be good for you or is the lack of them some kind of essential component I need to be afraid of?

Congrats to Dan and Ellen on their firsts - one a hole and one a hole filled with yummy food. Wouldn't it be niced if all first's were as well rewarded as Dans?

We went to the Astronaut Hall of Fame today which was as inspiring as ever. It could do with some updating however - one film referred to the early planes starting in our current century. I'm sure I've been heading to Florida longer than that!

Oh, and just for Jym: Bahama Breeze tonight. Another fun place to eat. Talking of Jym I'm sure I sure mention of wine and chinese and I have to add to it. I take the Henry Ford approach to wine, any color as long as it's red. There are plenty of red wines that go well with chinese - Cote de Rhone, Rioja etc. Hey, if the french can find a different champagne to go with each course of a five course meal I can find a red wine to go with chinese!

Off to Washington (state that is) for a meeting tomorrow. Its REALLY supposed to warm up the rest of the week. 90 degrees by Thursday, and mid 90s thru Sunday! (We were only 58 today). Hey, Buddy, you don't need to start packing, it was just my tickets which is what I was thinking.

How's everyone doing today? I think I need to go talk to the cinstruction guys about moving my car. They are putting in curbs and they have a string going across the driveway behind my car. I think I'll have to go get something done today.:(

But if I took you and Patti wouldn't everyone else be upset that I didn't take them? I could always take Jenn and Nat so we could have a girls trip, but then my DD would want to go and Gilles. I don't think I could be that lucky!!!:D

If we are having an All Girls trip, then I say let's have an All Girls trip! Sandy, Carol, Ellen, Rhonda, Natalie, Blythe, Bethany, Jenn, Mary, T&G, Sarah , Tina, Patti, Mikki, Emily, Blanche, Mary, Marie and everyone else! Did I forget anyone? Did I include anyone that didn't want to come?:D

 Hi guys.... just a quick zoop for now... and I wanted to ask a question. (Be honest....) Now that the "oh my gosh" excitement has warn off, I'm feeling a bit sheepish for having proclaimed it so "loudly" and so crazily across the thread... I was a bit caught up in the moment. It's a once in a lifetime kind-of thing, but we consider it a HUGE blessing, and didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. So, if it was a little "over the top", forgive me, okay? :)

DD13 has had a migraine since Sunday. It seems to have eased up this evening, so we will see tomorrow. (Course we thought it had eased up last night - only to return...). No fun - and makes me feel totally helpless.

How is your DD? I sure hope she's feeling better... it's so hard, when you can't take their pain away...

How was your meeting today? I can't believe you're going to be in the 90's all weekend... we're in the 70's today, and are dropping to cool and rainy for the weekend, probably high 50's. :(

I saw Pogo get a hole-in-one but nobody gave him any money. The little mechanical Santa Claus just took his ball and then we left.

:D

At 5'00" how else can I sell myself?
:funny:

So - how was everyone's Wednesday? Seeing as I slept through it so far, it's been fine... I just wish I could get rid of this darn cold!! I'm wondering if it's going to need some meds....

I'm scheduled for OT tonight at work, but won't know 'til 9pm if I'm going in... it'd be good if I did, but at the same time, I'd rather stay home & get some good rest and be able to do some stuff outside tomorrow before the yucky weather hits... I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Hope everyone's having a great day!

I'm trying to get up the energy to go out and do a little garage/shop cleaning. who wants to help?

When you find that energy do you want to send some to me? I did a little and then decided heck with it and quit. My excuse is that I'm tired from yesterday. I moved a bunch of drapery fabrics and it was really heavy and wore me out.

Buddy, I wasn't singling you out...Emily and I are going to teach you to belly dance, remember? The main point was getting the fashion advice from Alex. Do you think he'll lend you his lime green tube top and pink juicy shorts?

Good morning all........ I'm glad to see the night shift alive and well on 'JQ' ! I hope it wasn't too busy for you Blythe.

So here I sat last night going over our plans for December and I'm trying to figure out my plans for our ADR's. We get in on a Thursday. We've blocked out Friday and Saturday for our 'JQ' meet. For our trip in Oct, we've only made 2 ADR's. We arrive Thursday afternoon, so we're going to Epcot right away and start sampling food. We're going to Flying Fish on Friday night, Saturday we're hoping for PoS at Epcot and on Monday evening we're doing LTT since that'll be our Thanksgiving Day. That only leaves Sunday evening and we aren't sure yet on that one. We're not doing the dining plan, we found it was just too much food for us.

So anyone have any big plans for the weekend? It's our long weekend up here, so I'm looking forward to 3 days off!!!

That is one good show Ellen. It got me teary eyed. It's a definite not miss.

I have our schedule for where we are going. We (well my friends) got the 30% off coupon and so we upgraded to the Deluxe Dining plan so we have a lot of 2 dining credits. She says it is all my fault. AHHH, I've done well.

You should be very proud!! Julia can't wait to get on here...

Yeah.... me too. I think we'll have to send out the JQ search party for her. Anybody else have her cell phone number, or should I call her later today ??

I absolutely think you should call her -- I forgot you guys met!! I was wondering if anyone had any contact info. for her... go for it, and tell her to get herself (and her avatar!! :D) back here!!

I managed to cramp up my right leg this morning about 6:30. Scared DW when I jumped out of the bed to flex it. Still a little sore. Don't you hate when that happens?
What have you been doing??? That only used to happen to me after a day of soccer...

I was doing the exact same thing when you posted that. I had mint chocolate chip, how about you?

I'm flying to Boston for a wedding.
I'm not sure what it's name is, but it's some kind of mocha ice cream with fudge/espresso ripple, cookie pieces and Kahlua.... can you say heavenly???

I'm jealous you're headed to Boston... I haven't been there since we moved, and I'm dying to get back and take the girls. We were supposed to go for the marathon, (my BiL and another close friend ran in it) but it was too close to closing on the house and we had the owners coming out to get their stuff. :( We haven't even seen the completed "Big Dig" yet!!

Blythe, if something like happened to me, you guys would be the first one to know as well. So no you didn't go overboard.

You know, it's funny... I realized after I'd posted that besides calling my mom, you guys were the first people I wanted to tell!! I wasn't comfortable telling a few of our friends, as they struggle financially quite often, and I have a hard time telling them when things are going well for us, even though I know they're thrilled... a few others weren't around to tell right away, or I knew Dan would want to share... but you guys are right here, all the time, and have become like an extended part of my family/daily life!! It's pretty awesome...

Do we want to start thinking of a which day/which park schedule? Has anyone thought this far ahead?
 Have I?? Um, yeah.... I have our whole schedule figured out already, based on last year's December hours... haven't confirmed any ADR plans with Dan yet, I wanted to get closer to the actual date we can call, but yeah, I've got parks/meals/Christmas stuff pretty much figured out a bit too early... (I had a slow night at work a few weeks back, okay??)

Hey there everyone...It has been forever since I have been in here.
Hi Michelle!! :hi: Glad to see you back around!!

I hope you guys are all having a great Thursday... I'm off to the showers so we can go take my mom out to dinner. :) What's everyone got planned?

We need to start classes ASAP.
OK..... enough out of you little Miss Smarty Pants ! :D

Hey, guess what? We're under 30 days! Now the countdown begins in earnest, with each day seeming that much closer than before. I'm so ready, wish we could go now.
I'm happy for you Scott..... Don't forget your trip reports for us poor people at home. :D

Sounds like some great plans in the works there, pogo. What time do you get in on Thursday? I am just hoping and praying that I can break away to meet up with everyone. Our schedule is so darn packed it worries me.
We get in at 11:00 AM and should be at POFQ by noon.

You better be able to break away.... I'm counting on it. You owe me a real hug ! :D

I absolutely think you should call her -- I forgot you guys met!! I was wondering if anyone had any contact info. for her... go for it, and tell her to get herself (and her avatar!! ) back here!!

Hey there everyone...It has been forever since I have been in here. I have merged from my spring blues and can be cheerful and positive again..so here I am. When did Jym go and get a husband? And a golfer at that!
How is everyone else? We finally exorcised the nasty flu bug from the house last week. My DS was the last to get better.. poor kid..fever went ot 104.9 and his evil mom had to verify that one by putting the thermometer where the sun don't shine!
Looks like there is lots of December planning going on. Ellen..Believe is really good..and I quite enjoyed Sea World. I want to go to Bush Gardens to see the new Jungala area..looks neat.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week..

Morning Sis ! Why are you calling me sunshine ???

So here I sat last night going over our plans for December and I'm trying to figure out my plans for our ADR's. We get in on a Thursday. We've blocked out Friday and Saturday for our 'JQ' meet. We want to do the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package with Le Cellier. We also want to do the Fantasmic / Brown Derby package. Now I need to figure when !

See you all later. :D
We've decided on the Brown Derby package too, but want to go to Marrakesh for the Candlelight Processional package. We are arriving on Sunday and leaving on the next Sunday. if our economy holds out.

Hey all, what's up with everyone? I am just swinging through to see what is up and realized that y'all have been very chatty the last couple of days! Needless to say I am never going to catch up so I am just jumping in the water and hope the water isn't too cold!:D

There is nothing new on my end today. I just started on the thyroid medicine so I should start to have more energy over the course of the next week or so. Believe me it can't happen fast enough! Those of you who have gone through this know how drained you feel when that thyroid hormone leaves your system! When you feel run down all the time every little ache and pain seems to be exaggerated so much more! So with all my back problems I am really feeling lousy. On another good note I do have a date of June 16 for my next back surgery! Anyway, I guess that is good news?

Grammatically, it should have been "me".

I was going over varietal samples from my aroma kit. I try to stay inside when the sun is up.
Anybody have any idea what a gooseberry is?

It's a small green berry (round like a blue berry but bigger) normally quite tart, often made into jams and fruit tarts. It's common in the UK not so much here but will grow, kinda but not quiet similiar to a green apple. Does that help?

And regardless I'm still going to stick to a good cup of jasmine tea with my chinese food if you don't mind...

Blythe you were volumes quieter then I would have been. Pogo nice rate on the refi.

Ellen I've been thinking of you today! Jasper good luck..

Alex behave whereever you are..Jenn I've missed seeing you around. Deb sounds like your plans are still teetering..Hope it works out.

As to parks and days we haven't really...Friday and Saturday are the most likely days but personally I'm not sure dinners will work out with this varied crew but we can sure try..

Ciao!

Where is Alex, anyway?

I was helping DD6 with her "homework" (its kindergarten, so how hard can it be?). She had a whole list of critters and had to determine of they were mammals, birds, reptiles, or fish. She was doing great. She got stumped on penguin, but so far so good. She got to salmon, and when I asked what it was, she said "dinner"! :funny: I think we are going to regret introducing her to the finer foods so young....:D

I sure hope she does... I went back and checked her last post, and she'd just gotten a new job and was feeling "twitterpated" about someone new... wonder how that's been going??
She better not have dumped us for him... ;)

I'll send you a PM in the next few days with our parks/dates... I'm not sure we're going to do the Fantasmic show or package (I know, heresy) but there's just so many other things we'd like to do, and honestly, it wasn't our favorite. Weird, huh? But I'm SURE we can find a fun dinner, etc., to do!! I may think I've got it all figured out, but we're flexible, and I'm sure things will get juggled a bit as everyone else sorts out their plans, too. :)

Oooohh, that Boone's Strawberry sounds wonderful... think I can find it up here?? Online??

So - will this be when they fix the part that was implanted earlier? I hope this ends all the need for surgery for you!!

That's priceless!! My girls love salmon, too, which is good, seeing as we eat it so much. I think it's one of their favorite meals, actually! Just hope that lasts.... Try not to introduce lobster too soon, okay?? ;)

Well, I'm off to bed... a bit of a crazy night, and lots to do tomorrow. I hope everyone's Thursday is ending well!

And of course I had to check my hours to see what time I really start my day, like I didn't know. But you never know when they will change your hours on you.
The only stinky thing about the DVC is that you must wait until it's 7 months to place a reservation at a resort that's not your home resort or 11 months if it's your home resort. So I guess we can place our reservation for OKW today seeing how our arrival day is the 16th of December, is that right? Now if we wanted to do our home resort we would place one for the month before the one we're currently in? I'm confused as usual. lolol

So how is everyone's day going so far? Mine got really interesting at 7:30 this morning. Our roads are still being constructed, right now they're making the curbs. They're having us park in the street at night(if you can get a spot and visitor parking is full of the workers cars), well, this morning they are ringing everyone's doorbell to have them move their cars to another place...where do you park when the entire area is under construction? I find a spot, one guy starts telling me I can't park there, when another guy comes up and asks how long we're parking there, then says it's okay. I sure hope the rest of the day goes better and we have places to park tonight when we get home.

The upside about today so far...the morning show I watch up here(to Nat and Jenn..Breakfast TV) one of the guys(Frankie Flowers) are at Epcot doing live reports from the F & G. Do you know WDW really looks so nice this morning?

Yeah, looking at the fact that you are in New York that would make sense. I had the weather channel on earlier and they were talking about how all the wet, cold weather that we had the last several days had moved up into all the eastern seaboard area and would hang around for most of the weekend.

So can you get them to allow you to move your weekend to the first part of next week? By that time the nice weather we are suppose to have the next couple of days should have found y'all by then!

What are you doing with YOUR weekend?

I'm originally from Boston - I moved just shy of 3 years ago. I don't think I've seen the Big Dig completed yet, but I'm not sure if it will ever be truly complete  You'll have to take a weekend trip there sometime....you're not too far from there and as you probably know there's so much for stuff to do!!!

I LOVE Boston. We were there several years ago - actually almost moved there. My DH had a standing offer from a company there, but everytime we tried to make it work, something would come up - and it never happened! Just think - I'd be living semi-close to most of you! (closer than I am, at least)...

Hey to everyone! A quick zoop -- I realized whilst riding the train this morning that I might have what Euan had earlier this week...:ack:. My friend just went downstairs and bought me some gravol -- so here's hoping!

Hope you're feeling better Jen! Nothing worse than feeling  and being stuck on public transportation.

Not so nice around here... dry enough that I got the mulch down and did some weeding, but now it's drizzling and gray and cool out there. :( Not much change for the forecast over the next few days, either.
It was 96 today - still almost that now. Supposed to be in the 90s again tomorrow, and then become more reasonable by Sunday. :whew:

Yesterday DD13 came home from school with very red watery eyes. I gave her some allergy meds, but by this morning, it was apparent that it was not allergies. She also had said her ear hurt a little. So I had DH take her to the Dr. She has pink eye AND and ear infection AND her ear drum ruptured! Poor thing! She has such a high tolerance for pain, she just never let on that it was hurting that bad. Talk about feeling guilty -I feel HORRIBLE! She is on antibiotics, and actually looks and feels better this evening.

Tomorrow is DD6 big birthday party. Of course out of 18 invitations, I have only heard from 5. It makes it REALLY hard to plan. Anyone want to come help all these 5 and 6 year olds bowl??:bowl:

:pixie: for the pink eye, ear infection and ruptured ear drum! Ouch!

And, :pixie: for Jenn too - hope you don't have what Euan had!

For the weekend, I'm hoping to get to see Prince Caspian, and I need to do some work too.

Hey, everyone! How are y'all doing? I was so busy today that I almost even forgot that I needed to spend some time watching the Magic go through the Panama Canal. So cool!

Do you know WDW really looks so nice this morning?
I think it always looks nice in the morning (but then again, I'm easy to please ).

WOW! You're that old?
Jym and Crush can be our elder statesmen at that rate.

DD Laura called this AM to say that Gage threw her cell phone into the toilet!:D

What are you doing with YOUR weekend?
Sounds like Laura might need to invest in one of those "potty locks." Ask Jym... I think he and Rachel might know the entire inventory over at Toys R Us. First the cell phone, who knows what's next!

The weekend? Work, scrapbook, laundry, try to start sorting out my living room (I was told that they want to do another photo shoot at my house) in advance of rearranging the living/dining room. And we'll be going to see Iron Man.

Have a great night, everyone!

P.S. Where's Di?

So can you get them to allow you to move your weekend to the first part of next week? By that time the nice weather we are suppose to have the next couple of days should have found y'all by then!
That'd be nice, now wouldn't it?? Wishful thinking.... :)

Not that I don't wish you all the pleasure that living in Oregon brings you, but it'd be great if you were out this way!!

:pixie: to your sweet DD13... poor thing!! I hope she's feeling better by tomorrow...

Have fun at your party... good luck hitting those pins!! :D I know your frustration w/ the invites... I've had more people tell me (when I call to check, or they just show up) "Oh, you know we're coming! We wouldn't miss it!!" Grrrr... that's why I always end up making too much food....

So - I'd ask what all of you are doing, but I think I know... have a good rest!! (And Jym... go to bed!! :D)

Hey Jym on Wednesday night I'm taking a cooking class/wine pairing. Our liqueur store in the town we moved from has classes all the time. The class coordinator and I have become really good friends. Here's the menu for Wednesday night: Caprese turnovers (oven-baked pastry stacked with fresh Roma tomatoes, Bocconcini, baby arugula salad and tomato jam), Orecchiette pasta in a smoked salmon vodka sauce tossed with fresh asparagus, and Baked chocolate ravioli filled with Mascarpone cheese. Doesn't it sound good? The chef is from a local restaurant.

Looks wonderful. You just HAVE to tell me what they decide to pair with the salmon and asparagus. That's a master level pairing right there.
After they set that pairing, do this: make a bright-eyed face and say "wow, this wine tastes somewhat sweeter now... is that the asparagus?". Everyone will think you're very astute have a well-trained palate. ;)

I'll let you know Wednesday night when I get home from class. Now do you understand why I want to go to F & WF? I've been doing these classes for about 4 years now. Now if you want any of these recipes, I'll have them also. My friend was worried because this a full meal(portion-wise) so it's more expensive then the normal class, I'm telling her it's not a problem. I'd like to see about classes when we're down at WDW, but I think time may be an issue.

I really need to get the crab cakes at Flying Fish. Do you know, Jym, that has become our standard for the best crab cakes we've had?

What's everyones plans for this fine Saturday? It's a little rainy here, but that's okay. I need to go get my hair done today...de-greyed as I like to call it and shortened. What's really scary is the last time I've had it done was before our trip to WDW in December.

Sending Frankie loads of :pixie: and hoping he'll be back with us soon!! Let him know he is missed, okay??

We had a delicious new salmon recipe... and it was SO easy!! You bake salmon filets that are topped with sliced almonds and puff pastry together, top the pastry with pesto and tomato, then the salmon... voila!! We paired it with jasmine rice and steamed snow peas/sugar snap peas... followed by a strawberry/blueberry/raspberry whipped cream tart. Yummm!!

I used a seasoning packet so to add a little more flavor, just before I drained the fat, I added a couple of shots of tequila and flambéed the mixture. It came out pretty decent.

Well, I don't know about the asparagus, but we had salmon tonight, and my MiL and DH had an Australian Chardonnay, while I opted for a sweeter NY wine, a Vignoles. Did we do okay??

Easy answer, if you liked it, you did okay.
Long answer: Vignoles is a great choice. It's medium sweet with high residual sugars which will bring out the flavor in fish with high fat content like salmon.
Chardonnay, well, if you can cook salmon in it, I guess you can pair salmon with it?

It's really the asparagus that makes the other pairing difficult. Asparagus makes wine taste sweeter, salmon is traditionally paired with a sweet riesling like that wonderful Joh Jos Spat you love. I'm afraid the asparagus would have to beat the palate into submission unless there's a powerful base like rendered duck fat jus to balance the acidity. I'd wager they're going to go with a pinot noir and hope for the best.

For more on this subject, read my new book "Wines Fat Guys Love" available soon in the scratch-n-sniff section.

A friend of mine and her DH make their own wine. She gave me a bottle of their Australian Chardonnay - WOW. I'm not a chardonnay fan normally, but this is good stuff! We are going to try to make it to their house tomorrow, as they have several wines in various stages, and we want to see the steps. We're planning to try making our own soon. Could be alot of fun, AND hopefully wonderful to drink! :D

What day are you going to MVMCP?

How are you all doing? T&G, how's your DD?
DD is much better today. The funny thing (or not so funny, if you think about it) is normally when the ear drum ruptures, the hearing is muffled in that ear for quite awhile, while it heals. Not a problem for her - she hears NOTHING in that ear (probably why she didn't realize it was infected, since it didn't sound muffled to begin with.

Easy answer, if you liked it, you did okay.

By the way - no worries on the pairings with asparagus - that stuff never enters our house...:D

DD had her bowling party today - and it was alot of fun. Many of the kids had never bowled before, and they really enjoyed it! After we got home, the power went out - and just came back on about 20 min ago. So of course, we just HAD to go out to dinner...:drama:

I'm glad she's better. I ruptured an eardrum for the first time a couple of years ago and I know what you mean by the muffled sound. That is funny in the way you meant it that she couldn't tell the difference. I'd never had that happen and wasn't sure it wouldn't be permanent.

Rhonda, I think your Saturday and my Saturday were seen in a corner, giggling and conspiring against us. Ben has changed his mind and now wants to go see Prince Caspian today instead of Iron Man. We were up to an obscenely late hour last night so my prince is still sleeping.

Hi, Sandy! :hi: How are you doing? No work today?

Well, I'm back to SC. Didn't have to get up quite as early this morning. Anybody got a coffee infuser?
Funny story (well, kinda). At work we always joke about needing an IV of coffee. Well, one day earlier this year I woke up after my infusion (they would premedicate me with Atavin and Benadryl so that I wouldn't throw an allergic reaction to the chemo drug) and was still sooooo sleepy. I really felt like I needed to sleep off the drugs but the floor's schedule was full that day and they needed the room I was in. So I almost asked my nurse if I could get some java in my IV. I didn't because somehow I didn't think she would get the humor. Okay... so it's sicko chemo humor, but I do have to get my jollies in somewhere, right? ;)

Have a good Sunday everyone. I have to go to work shortly.
Will you hate me if I say that working Sundays is one of the things I absolutely don't miss about working retail? (Says the woman sitting here working on org charts today.)

Okay, folks, so I had an idea this morning while posting on a thread about Boma. How about we have a JQ breakfast or dinner there as part of our "festivities"? Breakfast is $16.99 per adult and $9.99 per child; dinner is $26.99 per adult and $12.99 per child. The caveat is that for a group as large as ours (I mean numbers, people ;)), we would have to be seated within the first 40 minutes that the restaurant is open. Another alternative (and a way that we can get a character meal in as well) would be Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House ($18.99/$10.99 and park admission). Or we could try for a different venue and book our reservations as close together as possible (with smaller families booking together). Can you tell I'm getting antsy about ADRs the closer we get to our 180 mark?

:hi: Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! The flu is taking us all down one by one -- so I've been scarce.

I couldn't have even read about the salmon and asperges before today (which I would have with Pinot Gris - I don't care for Chardonnay or North American Reislings) -- Actually T & G -- I recently had one of the nicest Pinots I've had in a long while and it was from Oregon -- ADELSHEIM PINOT GRIS 2006 -- not over priced at $25, and it was really really nice.

What's up? It's a miserable rainy day here -- which is probably good to keep us quiet!

I'm glad she's better. I ruptured an eardrum for the first time a couple of years ago and I know what you mean by the muffled sound. That is funny in the way you meant it that she couldn't tell the difference. I'd never had that happen and wasn't sure it wouldn't be permanent.
I had an ear drum rupture when I was in college, and it was extremely painful. She didn't let on at all. Maybe the pain from the migraine earlier in the week made the ear seem like nothing. :(

Yup, I watch. That horse can run can't he? Wow, hopefully he can pull off the Triple Crown, now wouldn't that be nice.

That horse was amazing. They showed a replay, with the jockey giving descriptions, and you can see that he was holding the horse back until the final corner, and then he just let him run. WOW.

Love the idea - but not a Boma fan (unless breakfast is different?)

:hi: Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! The flu is taking us all down one by one -- so I've been scarce.

Actually T & G -- I recently had one of the nicest Pinots I've had in a long while and it was from Oregon -- ADELSHEIM PINOT GRIS 2006 -- not over priced at $25, and it was really really nice.
Sorry you are feeling bad - hopefully you are over the worst.
I have heard good things about that winery, but have not tried any of theirs. We may have to add them to our wine tasting trip. :D

So where were you May 18, 1980? Or as we say here "Where were you when the Mountain blew?" (Mt St. Helens, that would be). I was camping at the coast. DH (who I didn't know then) was in eastern Washington covered by inches of ash, with blacked out skies. Its amazing to remember that day, and all of the eruptions that have happened since then. Has anyone else seen the mountain erupt?

So I almost asked my nurse if I could get some java in my IV. I didn't because somehow I didn't think she would get the humor. Okay... so it's sicko chemo humor, but I do have to get my jollies in somewhere, right? ;)

Did you know we really do give caffeine IV's? Most recently, it was for someone w/ a "spinal headache"... not sure what the other floors use them for. But maybe she really could have done it!! :D

I love the idea of a brkfst/dinner like that... having never done either, it wouldn't matter to us. I'm getting anxious to do ADR's, too, but I'm equally anxious b/c what if Disney holds out on their December hours like they are for November? If they wait this far into June, we'll be way past our 180-day mark! I'm guessing we can go off last year's hours, which is what I've done so far... but I sure hope Disney gets more on the ball for December! (Anyone have any idea what's taking them so long??) Looking forward to when they announce the narrators for the Candlelight Processional, too... I've always looked at the list when it comes out and wished we'd be there for it... and now we will be!!

We are going the same night as well. Maybe we will see you around.

That'd be cool! :)

PS I am keeping Gage this weekend and getting NOTHING done!
Now, now... that's not true... you are investing quality time into your precious grandson's life, and being enriched by his time spent with you. (Can you tell that's what I always tell myself when my girls ask to play the 80th board game of the weekend??)

:hi: Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! The flu is taking us all down one by one -- so I've been scarce.

What's up? It's a miserable rainy day here -- which is probably good to keep us quiet!

Jenn, sending loads more :pixie: your family's way... I hope you are all feeling better soon!!

It's rainy and miserable here, too... but we had a nice "mother's day" breakfast with my MiL after church, and she just left... now Dan and I are hunkering down in the basement and trying to find places for all the stuff we brought here from the storage unit. Fun, huh??

That sounds like lots of fun to me, and Robert LOVES Boma for breakfast. I'm also starting to think about ADR's since my 180 day mark is only 3 weeks away.

By the way, has anyone heard from grego since Disney flew him down for the interview?

Not at all Ellen. You get used to it, plus Sunday's are shorter than a normal Monday-Saturday as we are only open for 5 hours. Even though I am there earlier than everyone else.

Sounds good for me, but I'd have to do a breakfast as we have all of our dinner's booked, well at least we will when I can make those ADRs in about what like 3 weeks.

I've taken away a couple of our question marks as the largest of the obstacles has been overcome, we think. Rachel's boss told her she can probably get some time off that week. So, it's just about making sure Alex shows up able to stand a trip at three months and well, cash. Anyone giving good odds?

How much mat leave will Rachel have, Jym? I think kids are pretty versatile travelers at 3 months ... they have had their essential shots ... and they are pretty scheduled. We took Harry to San Diego when he was 3 months old and it was really a fabulous trip ... I'm trying to think where we went with Euan .. I'm thinking New York at about 3 months ... then WDW at 6 months. It gets hard when they start walking ... and darn near impossible when the attitude sets in! ;)

I'm back!!!!:shades: I survived my flights. Jetblue totally rules. The wedding was PERFECT.........it was outside in a small seaside town right near Cape Cod....it was very beautiful and started getting me excited about mine next year. :bride: :groom:

I missed you guys!!! I referenced you a bunch of times to Molly and my mom. They kept asking me about the cookies and all the things we talk about...looks like we have some spies! :spy:

Also.....Greg leaves tomorrow for his week of interviews....my mom is meeting him on Thursday for lunch in Epcot....We'll let you know any "details" we find out.

We're game for ADRs in December as well. Jared and I were thinking of hosting a dinner or 2. Maybe 'Ohana? I've never eaten there before, but it seems like a fun place for a group.

Funny, I've missed being on here when we're away, too... but I have to say, although our closest family members know about I'cot, and even most of them still wonder what it is we're into... our friends really have no idea, and don't have a clue what we're talking about when we mention it! 'Ohana's! Perfect place for a bigger group! Food is yummy - and of course, they have Lapu Lapu's! How can you go wrong? :D

We spent part of this afternoon with a friend of mine and her DH. They make their own wine, and had several different varieties in different stages today. It was soooo interesting, and wow do they have alot of knowledge! Afterward, we shared a bottle of their Australian Shiraz that they made a couple of years ago. I'm not much of a red wine drinker, but this wine was excellent! We may have to try making some ourselves - what do you think?

Over the next couple of days it's suppose to be about 90 degrees down here. And of course that also comes with the usual rain. It did rain for a bit last night but it stopped before long. So I guess we better water the couple of tomatoe plants and the other odd assortment of plants we have out there huh? :D Do you suppose dem there tomatoe plants need a bit of sun screen to protect them from the sun?

Hi all, sorry I've been scarce, it's a long weekend here and we've been catching up on yard work. Mind you we also caught up on family meal times too so that cuts into the computer time a tad.

I like the idea of either breakfast but wouldn't it be easier to get to the one at AK? Just a thought as getting to the resort at AKL early might be tricky for those of us who don't do cars.

August 10th, give or take
Not that it will necessarily happen to you (and I certainly hope it doesn't, just a forewarning...) Our Julia was due August 11th... give or take... and she "gave" us 15 extra days of pregnancy and wasn't born until early morning on the 26th!! Of course, nowadays they induce anybody who's even a day or two past their due date... at least, a lot of docs up here do... I'm not all for it, but I wouldn't go the full 2 weeks, either.... so I'd start bribing little Alex with that Disney trip early!! ;)

So - what's up for everybody today? I'm laying low and doing stuff here at home... heading out to the store later and work tonight... it's a cool (okay, cold....) rainy day here... but at least it's supposed to be sunny and 70 for the weekend (or so they say right now... you never know around here...) Our Julia was due August 11th... give or take... and she "gave" us 15 extra days of pregnancy and wasn't born until early morning on the 26th!! Of course, nowadays they induce anybody who's even a day or two past their due date... at least, a lot of docs up here do... I'm not all for it, but I wouldn't go the full 2 weeks, either.... so I'd start bribing little Alex with that Disney trip early!! ;)

it's a cool (okay, cold....) rainy day here... but at least it's supposed to be sunny and 70 for the weekend (or so they say right now... you never know around here...) Here's hoping!

Hope you're all surviving Monday so far!!

Around here the longest they usually let someone go past their due date is 7-10 days. Of course, that depends on the situation. With our last child (Number 3) my wife turned up diabetic and started spotting blood in the middle of the pregnancy so they actually scheduled a date to take the baby by c-section about a week before her due date. We have also heard from other parents in our area that the docs often do things like that when there is risk to the baby or mother.

Can I send some sun and warm weather your way? We had an absolutely beautiful weekend! It was so nice to finally have one! Of course, I spent most of the weekend on the couch but it was still nice to have the windows open and smell all the blooming plants! This is the first time in something like 3 or 4 years that we did not get a late killing frost so everything has had the chance to bloom this year and it has just been gorgeous! The only negative is that I have heard from those people who have trouble with allergies say that this has been a really bad year for them.

So - when you say "hit the hay", what are you saying??? Care to rephrase?? :D
Well see, I have this bale of hay in the back yard and when smarty-pants people ask me aggrevating questions, I can just go out back and hit it. :fresh: If you're a city girl, I can 'splain what hay is if you want. :D

Who's fixing lunch today?

It a holiday for Queen Victoria's Birthday. Up here it's more known as the 2/4 weekend...the first long weekend starting the unofficial summer 2/4 is for a 24 case of beer!!!:D How did I do Jenn and Nat? I'm getting to know the holiday's up here, not bad for an immigrant!!!

Hello all, I'm back, kind of.

I was having somewhat of a crisis of not fitting in/being accepted/frustration, etc. I wasn't sure that JQU was the place for me.

Pogo has set me straight and I have seen the error of my ways!! :D

I am frustrated by some of the threads on Intercot and I guess instead of seeing that for what it was, I kinda dropped out all together and I shouldn't have. I have brought some make up cookies, all different kinds, I hope you can accept me back.

So, where were we?

Hey, you got somethin' against the Hee Haw girls or what? Obviously you haven't spent much time looking at who some of those "girls" really were and what they looked like! I would take any number of those girls at any time!

Sarah, shame on you, of course you belong! We all belong, sort of like the island of misfit toys on Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. ;)

So, what sort of cookies did you bring? The way to my heart is definitely through my stomache. :D

So now you're really depressed, eh?

Welcome back. We all just like to have a good time. As long as there's cookies involved. Just remember to pick on Pogo and you'll be fine.

Scott, I like your analogy to the misfit toys. :D:thumbsup:

Glad to see you're back!! I think we all go through that once in awhile... but the addiction takes over and we return... Sometimes, you just have to read between the lines, or avoid reading between the lines... ;) ... and sometimes, it's best to just avoid a thread altogether! I know there have been some that have gotten under my skin... so I just stop reading that particular thread, and head elsewhere. Not always easy, though...

Anyway -- glad you're back!!

Jenn, you're my hero... when I grow up, I want us to be like you & Brian... :D ... congrats!!
