All three of them decided to donate (they are 8, 6 and 4). We have about 31 inches to send! I'm so proud of them and their new cuts are sooo cute, my oldest has enough hair for four people LOL :) My neighbor cuts out hair and here they are holding it ready to go:

Our 9 yr old DD did locks of love 2 yrs ago she was tickled when the beautician said that was a wonderful thing she was doing. They made a big fuss over her in our hometown. She wanted to cut it again and this time when we got there they said they'd changed the length policy to 10 instead of 7 inches and she was 3 inches to short to donate. So, we trimmed it and said maybe it would be grown out by our trip in Dec and maybe she could cut it at MK's barbershop.

Very thoughtful of your girls to donate their hair. I love their short "do". They are beautiful.

I think that is great that your daughters did this! Someone told me about this a few years ago after I cut 14-16" off my hair. I'm planning on doing this sometime over the next year. Do you mail the hair in yourself? Is that how it works?

What a great thing for them to do! I did it back in May 2006. I took 13 inches off. While I miss having my hair that long, I've gotten used to it at this length. I may even do it again.

Your girls are beautiful ;)

I cut my hair a few years ago and did the same thing. I was a bit nervous though - I had to send the hair to South Florida and they were in the middle of a hurricane!!!! I did finally get a confirmation from them.

My DD's do this every time their hair gets long enough to cut the 10 inches off. It makes them feel good to know that they are helping someone else.

You must be so proud!

My best friend just donated her hair. I plan to eventually, but my hair is still too short right now.

Your girls are so generous and sweet. Whoever ends up with their hair is going to be so happy and proud that they got such beautiful locks!!

Two of my friends are currently growing their hair for LoL and I'm so proud of them, too!!

My DD donated her hair once and I was so proud of her. She looked great with a nice short haircut for a change too. Now woth dance they keep their hair long so I don't see her donating again any time soon.

Locks of love (http://www.locksoflove.org/) has the video on how to cut your ponytail and send it in on their website.

What a wonderful thing for 3 little girls to do!! You must be very proud of them! They look adorable with their new hairdos! I donated a bunch in Feb. when I had my all my hair cut off. It's nice to know that you can get a haircut and do something good at the same time.

I've been wanting to donate to Locks of Love for years, but my hair grows really slow. It's at about 8 inches now, so I'm hoping that it'll be long enough when we go in Sept to have it cut at the barbershop on Main St.

Thanks so much for the kind words:) It's so much easier to take care of.

In addition to Locks of Love, there is another place you send 8 inches of hair, it's through Pantene shampoos and you can go to their website and see how it works. The hair specifically goes to women with cancer.

You have three adorable little princesses. They look so proud too. My dd did it back in about 2001 when she had waist length hair and bobbed it. It's a great program..:grouphug:

My daughter did this a few years ago. We went to Disney very soon after and will always remember her very special gift when we look at those pics. This is an awesome program and the litlle girls (and women) who have the patience to grow their hair and cut it are very special indeed!:mickey:
