We just booked our first cruise for 8/09. We were curious about the beds. I understand that the queen bed can be split into two twins, but what is the couch like? I read somewhere that it is a fold down couch? Is that like a "futon" or is it an actual sofa bed that pulls out into a queen like in hotels?

thanks for any help:sail:

It's not like a pullout queen sofabed. I've never had a futon so I can't compare it to one, but it folds out lengthwise to a twin size bed, instead of out like a sofabed.

If you've ever seen the "sofabed" in the rooms at the Contemporary, it's like those.

It didn't even seem to "pull out" to me-- they remove the back cushions and the pillows and take off the cover and there is a twin bed underneath. My husband slept on this and he said it was comfortable. If you have 4 in the room, then the pull-down bed is directly over it and it looks like bunk beds when made up for the night.

So it's really a daybed rather than a sofa, I guess.

Now, if I could just get my four year old to stay IN his bed instead of crawling in with me!!!!
