We are starting to plan our trip for October and this time I want to stay at the Poly. Can anyone give me suggestions and tips for this resort.:mickey:

I'll start with a suggestion...check out Tikiman's website! It has everything you need to know concerning the POLY!
Also check out the Poly info and map here on Intercot (under the resort tab) for any specific Longhouse.
The POLYoffers many different room views, Magic Kingdom view, water view, garden view etc. to choose from.
Tips:
The resort is beautiful and not nearly as big as some folks make it out to be.
You have easy access to both Monorail lines, the resort Monorail to the Magic Kingdom and the Epcot Monorail, walking distance to both.
Watch WISHES! from the beach. The music is piped in near the pool and the Hawaii longhouse.

Some things I recommend doing if you stay at the Poly is to make reservations for the Spirit of Aloha Luau and Ohana.

There is also a resort launch at the dock which is a great way to get to MK. A 'hidden' gem is the walkway to the Grand Floridian that you can pick up near the luau cove.

As others say watch Wishes from the beach, its a spectacular view with the fireworks reflected on the water and look for the Electric Water Pageant on the lagoon each night.

The only advice that I can give you is to go and have a great trip.This is one of Disney's original resorts and our favorite Deluxe,just be prepared to be spoiled after this.Go to Tikimans site,I think Disney should pay him,it's that good.

I agree with PetefromRI. We stayed at the Poly in Oct for the first time and we're so spoiled I don't think we could go back to the Mods. What a fantastic resort! Great places to eat, Ohanas, Kona, and Capt Cooks counter service, and the zero entry pool is great for kids. Try to get a hammock or swing on the beach to watch Wishes!

Thanks for the info I will check out Tikiman's site. We have stayed at other Deluxe resorts, both the GF and AKL several times but I have always wanted to stay at the Poly so this time it is my choice and not the kids!
