I was wondering if I could get some ideas on how much to tip the Mousekeeping?

Thanks!!!

I typically will leave $5 daily. It seems like so little, but it makes a difference...

we typically do $2 per person per day...in a nicely decorated "mousekeeping" envelope w/ Disney stickers for each day of the week....

If you have kids its a fun activity to get them in the disney spirit as well ;o)

We tip $4 per day. It's only my wife and I and we're typically pretty "tidy". We, too, use a decorated "Thank You Mousekeeping" envelope.

We tip $2.00 per person per day which we pin to the cute little rabbit, dog or cat figures made from the wash cloths by the housekeeper. We do it on a daily basis because of staff days off and assignment changes.

My DW and I also do $5 a day. And according to my DW (and my younger sister), I took the envelope too far (I custom made the envelopes with a different drawn character for each day and a nice Mickey icon pattern for the liner). They did come out pretty nice though. :mickey:

I wonder what percent of people leave a tip for mousekeeping.

I wonder what percent of people leave a tip for mousekeeping.

Not as many as you would think from reading these boards.

The reason folks have to make up special envelopes and label them is that mousekeepers aren't supposed to pick up money, even if it looks like a tip. They are not considered a tipped position by Disney management.

Typically, I don't tip housekeeping when I stay at hotels. But I also leave the "do not disturb" sign up the entire time so no one even enters our room.

However, at POR this past January...two nights we came back to find a bag on our door with clean towels, extra soaps, coffee, etc. So at the end of the trip we left a thank you note with $5-$10 (can't remember how much.) The house keepers were always outside our room when we'd leave for the day and they'd ask if we needed anything but we always said "thanks. but no." We also tidy up the room before we leave at the end of the trip. Tie up all of our trash, put the dirty towels and stuff into a pile, etc.

We usually leave between 10 and 15 dollars when we are leaving. We stay only 3-4 nights and most of the time we don't have mousekeeping come in at all.

We tip a $ per person so it is 4. There have been times that it has gotten a little bit more messy and we will tip more.

We just made our Mousekeeping envelopes. We did it in Walt Disney Script. Underneath that, we put a picture of Tink sitting on a mushroom. It's real cute. Then a big thank you. We do a dollar per day per person. So four dollars a day.

We usually leave $10-$15 at the end of our trip. This past time we didn't leave as much because thought the service in the room was not up to par. We never had enough towels and didn't get any more tea or coffee after the first night. Also, the general cleanliness of the room was below the standards of what we usually find a Disney room.

We usually tip $1-$2 per day for each of us in the room for a total of $3-$6 daily, depending on the amount of garbage to be emptied, etc. I will say that on occasion, we have not left a tip due to substandard cleaning - and we don't ask for alot. This was usually at CR, believe it or not! We've had no such problems in our last few stays at WL - in fact, one of the Mousekeepers, Pam Rios, was a complete gem!

Depending on what time you leave your room, you may have a different mousekeeper each day. We've always tipped on a daily basis so that whoever is cleaning the room gets the tip. We make sure that we leave the tip inside of their "service card" which is usually left near the sink area of the bathroom (has their name, etcetera on it). We tried the Mousekeeping envelopes, but often times they were left on the nightstand. :mickey:
