As I understand, using dining plan (2 credits) you can reserve only 2 or 3 category seatings on the shows. Are these seatings really bad?

No- there are no "bad" seats at the dinner shows.

I do not have the seating plan for the luau, but I do know what it looks like for Hoop Dee Doo.
Category 2 is at the back of the main floor and at the far end of the balcony.
Category 3 is along the sides of the balcony.
All unobstructed views. You won't miss any of the action.
And when the cast comes into the crowd- they go to all categories- not just the main floor.

1) You will get differing opinions on this.
2) My opinion is to not sit on a Cat-2 or Cat-3 table.
3) Sure, the view is unobstructed, but someone must crane the neck. *
4) After the time of the show, this can hurt.

* The tables in Cat-2 and Cat-3 are perpendicular to the stage, thus, for Cat-2 you turn your head. For Cat-3 people on one side of the table have to turn-around.
