Getting autographs?

What is the best thing to get the characters to sign the autograph books with? I don't want it to bleed through the pages and I don't want it to stain the characters costumes if they should drop it or mark on themselves.

We love getting autographs! We have learned ALOT in the past 2 trips! Fat Clicking Sharpies are the way to go! And use books that have thick pages OR do not let anyone sign on the backs- they will bleed thru!

We bought these really cool light up pens w/ a lanyard for our last trip and they were HORRIBLE! It was cold outside and the pens did not write in the cold weather! Then the tops twisted to turn on/off the lights and they twisted completely off and we LOST the pen half! It was a disaster!! :mad:

If you want a pen that won't bleed and a variety of color choices, scrap booking markers are the way to go. Yes, they are a bit pricier than regular markers or sharpies, but they don't bleed, are acid free (thus great when you are adding pictures or taking the autograph and putting them in a scrap book), and come in a ton of colors. Michael's has a great selection of sets and individual markers.

We use Sharpies, the clickable are the best but we use all kinds with all kinds of colors. We also use 8 and a hlf by 11 card stock paper with a clip board behind it. And it works great!!! The characters love the sharpies and the more area they have to sign the better. We then go home an either frame the personalized ones or put them in a large 3 ring binder with clear pages. :mickey:

Just make sure that if you do use Sharpies, please don't use the mini ones. They are too small to grip by the characters. The clickable ones are great.

If you want to use both sides I would spend the extra money and go with the afore mentioned scrapbook pens.
We have also used the cliking shapries and they are good as well but as stated earlier they will bleed through.
Do not wait to get them at Disney though, the ones they sell are poor quality.
Our family does scrapbook volumes with the picture above the autograph. We probably have 7 scapbooks full.
