Do you have to have AP passes now to get this package or can you book it now then buy the AP passes ?

No, you do not need to have the AP pass yet when you book.

I just booked 4/20 for 3 nights at the Contemporary and got a Garden Wing Std. View for $224/night + tax.($252). Which is a savings of $91/night. Not too bad...

I just called 8:45 AM and they told me that the AP rate was booked up at the BC for April 18 -25.

Is that possible or should I keep trying ?

Tink1

Is totally possible. These rooms can go very quickly.

Also, there may not have been any in the pool to start with. They only discount rooms they need to sell.

Does anyone know what the additional cost is for the (standard) dining plan package mentioned here? We currently have our room-only reservation with an AP discount (thanks to Magical Journeys!). If it's not that much more, I might pursue the dining package as well.

WOO-HOO! Got a standard room at Animal Kingdom for $189 a night! I'm pretty excited about staying there for the 1st time! Seemed like the best deal available during my vacation...

Thanks Wendy @ Magical Journeys!

AKL Standard Room with the passholder rate is running $164/night plus tax.

Tink1
02-20-2008, 02:56 PM
Yes it is.

But every vacation is different. Some people are staying over weekends that are rated higher, other have more than 2 adults in a room.

All these things and more will affect pricing.

OK, not that I can go now, but I am looking later in the year and want to make sure I understand (and can make Melissa's life a little easier later). You get the room and you get dining (for free?) at the discounted rate, or you get the discounted rate and you pay additional for the dining?

I do think it is good that you can finally have the dining plan on an AP room (though maybe a year to late).

if you are going 3/30-5/21 and your resort is available you get the dining package with an AP rate. You pay for dining.

If your going later in the year you can get the dining package (pay for dining) and room at rack rate. You do not need to buy tickets.

If a special AP rate is released later on we convert you to that with your dining package.

Dining costs are the same as they are for general public packages.

If you don't receive your AP discount at your time of booking, keep trying as sometimes Disney releases more rooms under the AP discount and/or people cancel.

We have done this and been successful twice. I called weekly up until our desired trip time, usually first thing in the morning and ended up being able to save big time. Both times it was for the Boardwalk Villas.

Also, I have found that you only need to show your AP pass at check in to receive the discount.

Does every person in your group need an annual pass in order to receive these rates?

You need one adult AP holder per room.

So does this mean that if I book a room at the special ap rate of $86 per night for a value resort then I could pay an additional $37.99 per night per adult and get the dining plan?

I know this should seem obvious but I think I'm alittle thick today. thank you -- tory

They don't have the FL resident rate available on the website yet.
I'd love to book through MJ, but we'll probably only be able to stay 2 nights. Room only.
I guess I'll keep checking.

Thank you so much!!!

I noticed that your signature says you are staying at the GF. They offered an AP rate for the GF? I am thinking about the AP for our upcoming trip in November (6th -16th) but I was told they sometimes do not offer AP rates at the GF. I am thinking that April is busier than our proposed week in November so maybe we're looking good for an AP discount in Nov?

No, you do not need to have the AP pass yet when you book.

I do not need to have already purchased an AP in order to procure the AP rates? That would solve all my problems. That way if they do not release any AP discounts for the GF during our dates then I wouldn't have wasted money on the AP. Am I right in thinking that as long as I purchase an AP pass prior to check in I am all right?

We just changed our reservations and we saved $1800. That was on three rooms at the Poly. Nothing like last minute deals. Disney travel was great, they spent two hours changing my packages. We leave in 7 days. Can't wait!!
