Vacation planning for 2009?

When can I book a vacation for Feb 2009? I went online and it would not let me book anything past Dec. 31, 08.

If you call, you can book "room only" (no packages yet) for 2009. You will be quoted an insanely high rate, and it will adjust as the rates for 2009 are released (summer 2008). At that time, packages are also released, so you can convert a room only reservation to a package at that time, if you wish.

Last year, rates were not released until some time in the summer. I'd expect 2009 rates will be available some time this coming summer.

We went to a travel agent yesterday hoping to book for our trip the end of January 2009. We have to wait 2 more weeks to book as the prices aren't out as of now.

If you're planning to book a package, there's no guarantee that the prices will be out in 2 weeks. Last year, they weren't released until some time in the summer.

My main concern is getting the resort I want. All other stuff will fall into place.

When our travel agent was on the phone, whomever she was speaking to said to try back in a couple of weeks.

Is this true even for FW? Should I go ahead and book a site now for Jan 09? Or am I ok to wait till summer?

Room only or site only reservations for January 2009 can be made now. Your deposit amount may be adjusted once room rates for 2009 are released.
