I know some people get these postcard and e-mail for discount but that never happens to me.

Now my friend ask me about info for a August trip. Typically not a month that I go. In the past has there been any discount for August that is open the public.

Looking to book 8 days (between 8/7-8/19) in either a value or moderate for first timers. What kind of discounts have been offered? They are not fimilar w/ waiting for discount.

Is the best thing to do now, is just book the room. You can always add tix later or even at the front desk. Does it cost more to buy @ front desk?

Typically the discounts start towards the end of August when the crowds start to decline a little. As for tickets you really don't save much if any purchasing them in advance.
I would suggest booking through Magical Journeys because if any discounts should come up or free dining is announced they can change your reservation for you so you can take advantage of the discounts.

I ordered the Disney planning DVD, that's how I got the e-mail discount offer. If I were you I'd order it. It can't hurt, if you don't get the discount offer at least you'll receive the DVD. My vacation is planned for Aug 13-17 at POP. I got my rooms for $49 a night. I had Magical Journeys book it for me.

1) Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on it.
2) August is pretty busy, so it doesn't need inducements.
3) However, usually the week before Labor Day there is a chance.
4) Kids start school, so sometimes the bookings are down.
