Well I guess it's better late than never. My DW and 2 DD's really enjoyed our most recent trip to Disney where we stayed for the first time at a deluxe resort, the Polynesian. I can honestly say that this resort and all it had to offer really made my stay much more enjoyable than previous trips. Not that I wouldn't stay at POR again, but the Poly is really a step up. Having all of the the great resturaunts either in the resort or on the monorail, the ability to avoid busses for most of the trip, and the zero entry pool were major plusses. My younger daughter gained so much confidence with her swimming knowing that she could just touch the bottom that we spent quite a few hours at the pool each day. My older daughter enjoyed the pool, slide, and searacers, and the fireworks on the beach, avioding the nightly MK crowds, were such a bonus!

We went on the new rides and caught the new shows, the Monster Laugh Factory was well done for the kids, wasn't overally impressed with NEMO at the Living Sea's, it was ok.. but just didn't have the 'it' factor of other rides. We ate at the Cali Grill(got to finally eat here at fireworks time w/o the kids... had great seats by the window and DW and I were thrilled), O'Hanas, Kona, Tutto Itallia (enjoyed, even though it's going to close), Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, GF Cafe(wouldn't go back), Boma.

The highlight of the trip was the MNSSHP! The girls got all dressed up and we took the monorail over to the party. On the way down the ramps I spotted an Intercot T-Shirt, I said hello and introduced myself and low and behold it was our fearless leader Chairmain and CIO John! We had a quick chat and introduced my DD's and off we went to the party. The party was worth every penny. Disney did an excellent job rounding up non party people and escorting them out of the MK. The shows, trick or treating, parade, and fireworks all exceeded my expectations!! My DD's got a picture in front of Cinderella's Coach, and I got to chat with the lady ghost in front of the Haunted Mansion. Is she supposed to be the bride?? Does anyone know??

Anyways, to sum it all up the meals were great, execpt the GF Cafe, I would recomend the MNSSHP to anyone with or without children, and don't tell my daughters but for some reason I still get the jitters when they drag me onto RNRC!! Also, the Poly was top notch, I was so happy and satisfied b/c it is pricey but I would stay there again the next time we head down in a few years. I'll add more if anyone has any questions.

Thanks for reading!!

Glad you had a good trip! There were many Intercotees there around that time. Too bad you didn't get a chance to meet more of us!

Thanks for the great report. How about some details reviews of your meals. I'm concerned about GFC......what was wrong with it? How was Cali Grill....I must live vicariously through you as I can't get to CG for 85 more days.:mickey:

To answer dolphinmickey9170 - the GFC had poor atmosphere, and the food was just ok. The menu was also very standard with nothing that made me enthused about the meal. I wouldn't recommend with so many other great places to eat on the monorail loop. The CG on the other had was outstanding as always. I had some kind of goatcheese with sundried tomato ravioli app. and the oak grilled filet with the potatoes. The meal was outstanding and the atmosphere was still the best in Disney in my opinion.
