First time at the DVC AKL villas concierge coming up in May. I wanna know all there is about these accomodations. We've stayed at the lodge on a number of occasions but never in the conceirge. We wanna hear it all...

Hi! We stayed in the AKV 2BD Savanna View in September. While we enjoyed certain aspects, I personally won't stay in those units again. We might try once they've made the new units. Our issue was that the 2bd was not dedicated, it was a lock-off. We didn't know this and if my Mom hadn't been with us to stay in the other unit, I would not have stayed there with my kids. The doors between the units are large (soundproof) and with the master way on the other side of the living room, it is very hard to hear anything at all in the other unit (I wouldn't have felt comfortable with that in the middle of the night). I think what bugged me the most was that they didn't tell me it was a this kind of a set up, and that was very frustrating. I wouldn't have spent 63 points on it if I had known. :( Oh well, on to the good points...the furnishing are beautiful, many intricately carved pieces. The masterbath has a huge tub with a scene from the Lion King painted on tiles...very pretty. The view is fantastic, the kids loved watching all the animals. We were on the "Zebra Trail" section, which allowed us to see a lot of different animals. I'm not sure how to post photos, so if this doesn't work, I apologize in advance. Here are a few snapshots of the room and the view off the balcony.

They had a really cool "Cultural Safari" in the lobby and this man from South Africa gave a lesson about his country and taught our girls how to play the drums...

Hope those opened for you. Anyway, I'm anxious to try the AKV in the new section someday. The view from the Savanna view rooms was amazing and we're glad we've experienced it. Have a great trip.
