Why are the airline flights so expensive for the end of March (right after Easter)??? DH is going to WDW (SWAN DOLPHIN HOTEL) for a convention 3/25-3/28 and I would like to go with but the fights are almost $500.00 round trip. Will they come down at all between now and then?? I would really like to go with, but there is no way he is going to let me pay that much for a flight.

Holiday/Spring Break Rates. I'm sure there will be specials off and on, but I wouldn't count on them to go down too much. However, 500.00 is a lot. Where are you flying from?

My father just booked airline tickets with Priceline for March 1st. There are 5 of us going and he got the tickets for under $1000. He did the name your own price. The only downside is that you don't know anything (time, airlines, stopover's, etc.) until after you pay for the tickets. We are going from Boston and I believe they came up to be about $175 roundtrip, per person.

Its an option if you are willing to try it

Spring Break AND people are happily buying them. I can guarantee if they weren't selling they'd come down.

Price of gas has been a bit high...it always seems to take the airline industry a couple of months to catch up with any drop in price.

I started looking at airfare on September 14th EXACTLY 6 months prior to our trip!

At first I thought, oh well I have time!

I ended up going for the 2,400.00 DIRECT/Non stop flight for 4 of us!

So far, the rates have not gone down in fact just for fun I checked american airlines and the rate is now 6650.00 for a family of 4. YIKES!!!!!!!

I just checked out expedia for you, and there were flights as low as 240 pp from MKE to MCO.

We've never paid so much before...$347 r/t MHT->TPA last week of April on SWA. In the past, the same flights have cost between 99-170 r/t.

Spring Breaks have a lot to do with it. I made the mistake thinking prices would go down from the first day they were released by SW. So far, day 1 was the cheapest and most of the flights are booked. I could have paid $525 for 3 RT tickets, I currently have them for $750 hoping for a discount. My mistake for waiting.

The Spring Break timeframe does create a supply and demand problem with price.
