Southwest has now extended their bookings out until August 22nd. I think it was only until August 3rd or 5th prior to this extension. No great fare sales for our trip in mid-August, but at least now I can start looking. Mark

I saw that last night. I think we're going to have to drive as it will be about half what the airline tickets are costing right now, even if gas is at $4 per gallon.

Not sure where you fly from, but I typically get flights from BWI (Baltimore) to MCO and back for $69 each way. You may have to wait until shortly before your trip to book (8 - 4 weeks before flight) at these prices and may have to use Ding!, but they are available.

Just looked at the Southwest site and saw as low as $54 from Dulles to MCO and back. Just have to be a little flexible on dates - midweek prices always better than weekends.

I always get flights under 80 one way. I love Southwest.

I've never gotten a great deal from SW either!!! My Dings are like DANGS.

To fly out of Chicago Midway it was going to cost 5 of us close to $1400 round trip to Orlando--and that's on their lowest fare.

Needless to say, we will be driving. Like someone else said, even if gas is $4 a gallon, we'll still be money ahead. :D

Just booked yesterday for Feb 28 to March 4 and got $79 from Prov to Orlando. I found that Tuesday and Thursday have a great rate.

Keys to getting best price on Southwest - 1) fly during the week, 2) be flexible in days and times, 3) keep checking the website, and 4) use Ding!

Sometimes you can get a better price just through the website and NOT using Ding!

I just booked my trip for June $79 each way from Chicago!

Not the best deal I ever got, but things are too uncertain with airfares and oil right now. Now I can relax and wait for AP discounts!!!!

We usually fly Southwest, but for our April trip we were able to save $700 (family of 6: $1900 vs. $1200) by driving 1 1/2 hours to another city and flying JetBlue. Both Southwest and Jetblue are direct.

Sometimes you have to look around check different options.
