Can you use disney dollars for your tips on the disney dinning plan? We have been given a several hundred disney dollars as gifts. More than we will spend on items.

You can certainly tip with Disney Dollars, but your server will then have to convert them into cash. I saw a "do and don't" TV special about Las Vegas that frowned on tipping with casino chips because of the extra work involved in converting them. I would feel better tipping with cash, so I would convert the Disney Dollars into cash myself.

I did not know you could convert back to cash. Do you know where you can convert the dollars into cash?

At the Disney stores I know you need your receipt. I know you can do it in Disney World but I am not sure where. If I had to guess I would say the front desk.

I see nothing wrong with tipping your server with Disney Dollars. They can easily exchange them right at the restaurant register - not much different than including a tip on your credit card receipt. At Disney, those DDs are practically cash.

Except that if you tip on a credit card, they get it added to their paycheck and it's not immediate. Also, they will then have to pay taxes on credit card tips, where they only have to claim a certain percentage of their cash ones.
