AKL Room Question [Archive]

We just booked our August trip for AKL savanna view. Can anyone help as far as requesting rooms (if I request near the lobby, is the animal viewing good or should I request away from the lobby). Also, what about the construction. Is that a problem? Thanks!

The construction of the new DVC Kidani Village is only visible from the Sunset savanna.

If you're looking at the Arusha or Uzima savanna, you won't see it.

We had room 5234 and loved it. It overlooks Sunset Savannah, but I'm not sure how that'll play into the construction situation.

To think, you can wake up and see giraffes just off your balcony!!!

We always request an Arusha Rock view on the Zebra Trail. The Zebra Trail is closest to dining, pool and buses; and Arusha rock has great views of all the animals.

We have stayed on floors 2, 3, and 4. Our favorite was the 2nd floor because we were much closer to the animals. The lobby is on the 3rd floor so you can walk straight to your room from there.
