We are planning a trip this summer... we usually go for a long weekend, at most a five day trip. This time we are in for the long haul! 10-14 days. We are already pass holders, so that is taken care of. We already know that we would like to spend our time doing a lot of different things both on property and around central FL, so we know we are going to be renting a car. I am not too worried about our plane tix as we fly all the time and are use to that end of the deal.

What I would like to know is if any of you have split hotel stays between two different hotels and what your experiences were. We are debating doing a value and deluxe or just a moderate or the cabins at FW. We like the family suites at ASMu so we would do that and then something like the contemporary. What are your thoughts?

Our other dilema is that we have small children (3.5 and 1 year when we travel) and like to have seperate sleeping spaces (Why we like FW and the AS Family Suites). How do you handle little ones in a small hotel room? Maybe we should get a room with a balconey.

I have done a split stay. We only spent one night at the first resort and then moved to the other resort the next morning, so it wasn't very much hassle as we didn't have to completly unpack/repack. It was a simple process in that the morning that we were transferring, we called bell services at French Quarter and told them we were transferring. They came within a few minutes and took our bags. We then used Disney transportation to transfer to the Polynesian (bus to MK and then monorail to the Poly). We checked in, found that our room was ready, took the little bit of stuff that we had with us to the room, looked around a bit, and then we were off to the parks. Later that day, when we returned to our room, we called bell services at the Poly and they brought our bags to us. It was all very simple.

Since you'll have a car, you can either have bell services transfer your luggage for you, or do it yourself. Be careful not to leave all your valuables in the car though (particularly in view) as crime occurs even on Disney property.

Hopefully someone else will be along soon to answer your question about staying in the room with youngsters...

We've done a split stay a few times now. It is extra hassle with re-packing and moving midway through your visit. We've never relied on bell services to move our luggage........we just take care of it ourself. However, it is a nice way to experience another resort. When we do a moderate and a deluxe, we prefer to 'move up' during the last half of the trip instead of the other way around. In a way, it makes the trip seem extended because it is two separate experiences and also gives you an idea of your favorites for next time!!
