Howdy!!

We will be at DWD starting Feb 24th till March 3rd, and will be pulling our daughter out one week previous to the Spring Break here in Quebec, which runs Mar 3rd to 7th. Now I believe that the various US spring break weeks are later in March, which should mean quieter parks, but if someone could kindly confirm for me.

Thanks!

Spring breaks in the U.S. generally start around Presidents' Day (February 18th) and run through April. Different school districts have different break times.

I believe New Hampshire schools are off the week of February 25th and others may be as well.

While the week you are scheduled will be quieter than February 18th, I'd still expect at least moderate crowds the week you have picked.

The February breaks in the Northeast are actually considered Winter Breaks. Spring breaks are in mid-late April for much of the North. Ours is April 19-27. But don't discount colleges/universities, which break on staggered schedules any time throughout March and can affect crowds at WDW.

I am in Nursing school at our local college and our break is March 10-14. My kids and most schools around here in Missouri are March 24-28or later.

We are going March 9-16. I am going expecting moderate to heavy crowds but I am also hoping we are pleasantly surprised since it's our first trip. I have gone by the list here on which days to visit each park. If it says one park has heavy crowds on one day we have a different park scheduled for that day. I hope that helps us.

As others have posted, dates vary greatly by state and even school district. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to stay away from Easter, which is March 23rd this year. I think the dates you're coming will be fine...a little crowded but nothing like around Easter.

Spring break for our upstate NY public school is Fri April 11- Fri April 18.
Our spring break is almost always the week of Easter, but this year does not jive...so we are trying a trip then. I have no idea if we should expect huge crowds or not that bad! Its a toss up with breaks different in different parts of the country.

You should be fine when you are going since that is nowhere near Easter. The last time we went in 2004 was the last week of Feb (week after Presidents week which is winter break for many US schools) and the crowd level was moderate but definitely tolerable.

It is pretty clear that a bulk of the Spring Breaks are going to be centered around Easter (March 23). The week before and week after are going to be more crowded than the weeks prior to March 15 and after March 30. This is also evident in WDW charging the surcharge for meals during that time. I think everyone going over March/April just need to be prepared for the crowds. My DW, DD2, and I are going March 29 - April 4 and know it is going to be quite busy. Since she is only 2, we will hit as many rides in the morning, parades and shows in the afternoon, pool in the evening and then bed.

We're March 17-21. Sigh...Unfortuately I think our state is ALL doing it at that time.

They used to vary it a little. Last year because of that stupid storm up North somewhere it took us 3 days to get back from San Francisco to San Antonio because our plane didn't make it down and ALL the others going to Texas were booked solid.

My DS's Spring Break is April 7th - 11th. They attend a Catholic school, but their breaks are usually the same as the public schools in our area. Most of our colleges breaks are earlier, but alot of those kids head to the various beaches.

I hope you have a great trip & low crowds! :mickey:

We use to go that week every year (end of Fed/beginning of March) and found the crowds too be very reasonable. So much so that we kept going at that time. It tends to be far enough after President's Day and before much of the heavy spring break crowds. Recently, we've started to go in Nov. during the NJ teacher's convention week (so our daughters only misses 3 days of school) and we like ti much less becuase of the crowds.
