Ages for kids meals

I was just doing some research on the dining plan and noticed the ages for kids 3-9. I am hesitant to book the plan because I really don't think my 11 year old will be ordering off the adult menu. He would probably prefer a kid’s meal. Which brings me to my question -- long winded, I know -- Even if we are not on the dining plan, will we have a problem ordering a kids meal for an 11 year old?

Experiences will likely vary location to location and server to server.

Some may allow an 11 year old to order from the Children's menu, others may attempt to make accommodations by offering adult portions of child menu items, and others may make no accommodations at all--it varies.
