Does anyone know why the Dolphin hotel actually has fish statues on the top of it instead of dolphins?

There is a smaller fish known as dauphin fish. That is what is on the top of the dolphin hotel. Maybe it was supposed to me more stylized or metaphorical. Who knows with disney? LOL!!

A cast member explained to me that the statues are "art deco", or "classical style" dolphins. Think of Don Knotts as Mr. Limpet....... not Flipper.

The statues at the Dolphin Resort actually are Dolphin-fish (also known as Mahimahi). We typically think of the porpoise ("Flipper") when we hear Dolphin. But the statues at the Dolphin are not intended to be porpoises. If you Google "Dolphin fish", you'll see what they look like in the wild.
