Checked into the CR on 12/19 at 11am. Had a std wing room booked for 7 nights. Asked the CM at check-in if any upgrades were available. I said that I realize it is the busiest time of the year, but that it didn't hurt to ask. I also mentioned that this was our 6th time at the CR, and we hoped to stay in the tower some day. He said that he would see what he could do after we were checked in to our scheduled room. After we were checked checked in, he made a phone call. After he hung up the phone, he shook my hand, and said "congratulations, you have been upgraded." I am typing this from the 8th floor of the CR on the complementary PC. I am about 6 steps away from an awesome view of the Castle. The sliding glass door is open, and I can hear the music from where I am sitting. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!!!!

Thats terrific! Enjoy your holiday magic! We stayed in a tower room, MK side for the first time last month and I know exactly what you mean! I felt like I could reach out and touch the castle!
