Dec. 23, 1966 – TIME the weekly news magazine featured the article “Walt Disney: Images of Innocence” (volume 88 no. 26). A portrait of actress Julie Andrews graces the cover.
Dec. 23, 1973 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired “From All of Us to All of You” on NBC-TV.
Dec. 23, 1982 – The “Electronic Forum” (Epcot Poll) attraction opened in Communicore East in Epcot at WDW. (Closed Mar. 16, 1991)
Dec. 23, 1987 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Good Morning, Vietnam,” starring Robyn Williams had its premiere. (General release was Jan. 15, 1988)
Dec. 23, 1990 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Green Card” had its initial release in Los Angeles. (General release was Jan. 11, 1990)
Dec. 23, 1990 – The Magical World of Disney’s “A Christmas Visitor” aired on the Disney Channel.
Dec. 23, 1998 – “Cirque du Soleil” premiered at Downtown Disney West Side at WDW.
Dec. 23, 2000 – WDW’S Grand Floridian Resort’s refurbishment was completed.
Dec. 23, 2004 – Disney’s one-hour special “Night of Joy: A Holiday Celebration of Faith and Family,” hosted by Kirk Cameron aired on PAX TV.
Dec. 23, 2004 – “A Merry Mancini Christmas” was presented at the new Walt Disney Concert Hall in Ca. The concert featured the Henry Mancini: Institute Alumni Orchestra. (Legendary composer Henry Mancini wrote the music for Disney’s 1986 “The Great Mouse Detective.
