Sunday we were tired so we slept a little late. We ate our pastries that we had purchased the night before at the Norway bakery and headed out the door. We arrived at MGM at around 10 am. We walked around a little and enjoyed the decorations and then we went to watch the Muppet movie. (this has always been a favorite of ours) We left there and did a little shopping. We had ADR's for 50's but my husband decided he really didn't want that type of food so we stopped by and cancelled our ADR and then took a boat over to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.
This was a big mistake, lol. My husband loves burgers. He has them every chance he gets. Well, he fell in love with the Beaches and Cream burgers. He thought it just might be the best burger he has ever had. Then we topped off the meal with a No Way Jose and it was all over. This is now my husband's favorite WDW restaurant. The whole week he kept asking to go back.
After eating, we waddled our way over to the dock and caught a boat to the Boardwalk. We walked around for a bit and then got in line at the ESPN club to get a table for the 4:15 Steelers/Pats game. We probably waited 45 minutes to an hour to get in. We ended up with a great table and could see the big screen TV. We met some really nice Pats fans from Rhode Island. Although we were there for about 5 hours, the time actually went by pretty quickly. After watching our Steelers get beat, we walked around the Boardwalk and enjoyed some street performers.
Then we caught the boat to Epcot because I had won a private party for Illuminations from another Disney site. We met up with our party at the International Gateway and were escorted to the private viewing area. We enjoyed talking with everyone while we snacked on some cookies and awful hot chocolate. :ack: We enjoyed the show and afterwards they said they had a special surprise for us. They took us behind the scenes at Epcot and in the back way of Soarin'. :cloud9:My husband of course is going, "Why did it have to be Soarin'?" But he rode again like a trooper. This time we had the top row. He said it didn't bother him at all the second time. He thought maybe it was because he could see the top of the screen. Anyway after the ride we had to wait for everyone to congregate so we could be led by flashlight out of the park. It was very cool walking around behind the scenes and through the park when it was closed. It took a while to get a bus back to the resort and we were very tired when we finally got back. I think my husband was asleep before I was done with my turn at the sink. We had to get up early on Monday because we were going on the Mickey's Magical Milestone tour. I was really looking forward to the tour.
