No Availability mid-January!

I know that it is MLK weekend, but I can't believe that there is no hotel availability except for Ft. Wilderness Cabins for my travel dates: Jan. 16-22. What is going on there that weekend? Are the parks going to be out of control packed???

Did you try calling on the phone??? Both my sisters called over the weekend and one was able to get Old Key West for Jan 13-20 and the other one was able to get Wilderness Lodge for Jan 12-19. Its worth a try to keep calling and checking.

MLK weekend typically is a sell out weekend at the value resorts. Anytime the kids are off from school, especially in the winter, are heavily booked.

Value resorts tend to sell out first, even though there are lots of rooms. Suites are the other category that sell out fast as well.

Wow... makes me glad we're going the next weekend. We're at the POP from Jan 25-Feb1.

Mid Jan. is also the WDW marathon weekend time. Hotels are filled but the parks are not that bad.

I tried back in August to get a room at Boardwalk and 2 other DVC resorts and could not get anything for January 17th -27th unless we stayed at SSR again and came in on the 20th. SO we moved up our vacation and took of 2 days. MLK weekend has always been busy. Avoid MK that weekend.

If you really want to go that weekend, use Magical Journey's...they will work with you to try and get accomodations...We got reservations for December 26-29 just three weeks ago...and Terrisue worked hard and got us three nights at the All Star Movies for the time that we wanted...

Try them...you'll like them....
