Me-Carol, the birthday girl!!!
Sidenote: for this trip I made little business card size note to thank different castmembers at random. The notes were different, but most of them said " We want to let you know how much we appreciate everything you do to make our vacation magical. Thank you!!" They were also decorated with small Disney stickers.
Tuesday, Dec. 4...my birthday!!
Before I start with my day, I forgot to show you what was waiting in our room when we got back from AK--a towel animal (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2094921359/), I call it a horse, Gilles says it's a sheep. What would you say?
On to the day's report!!!! We decided to take things a little slower today since it was my birthday and tonight we're doing MVMCP. My cell phone went off early with a message from the DD wishing me a happy birthday. Gilles went down to Roaring Forks to get some coffee and root beer for me and we had breakfast of cherry turnovers we bought the night before at Main Street Bakery. Right before we ate, my cell phone rang...it was my dear Buddy, Pogo, calling to wish me a Happy Birthday!! It was so nice to talk to him and started my day off just right!!!
We had a 9:40 appointment to go see a DVC presentation. It was really interesting, and we're still debating if it's right for us or not. Gilles is the logical one, saying we have to wait because of the new house. We had them take us back to WL to take back our package, when I found another new little friend--a towel fish (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2095694912/)!!! We also walked down to the dock and met Figaro!! He's really sweet. He was telling us how cold it was for him in the morning when he came to work. We laughed when he said he wore a stocking hat!!! It was cool, but not really cold, but then again we're used to snow!!! We also met a co=worker of his, Andy that was a sweet elderly gentleman. Figaro, Tell Andy hi from us when you see him again!!!
We decided we'll go to Disney Studios because I wanted to go onto TofT and get the picture delivered to our room, and today was the best day to do it!!! After TofT we went to get lunch, we went to ABC Commissary. The CM there was not friendly at all, they weren't really busy and she acted like she couldn't be bothered to take our order. We weren't too crazy about the food either. Both times we have eaten at a CS place at Disney Studios we have been less then impressed.
Back to WL, for a little rest before our big night. As we were getting ready to leave for MVMCP, my cell phone rang again!!! This time it was Natazu wishing me a happy birthday!!! We had a very nice conversation and I thanked him again for his telling us about Flying Fish...you guys really have to try it!! If you like seafood, it's the place to go!!! (I'm trying to help you, Jym!!! :D)
Off to the party!!! When we were going in for the party we noticed that it was sold out!!! We had dinner at Cosmic Rays. We had decided no burgers tonight, so I had the pork sandwich and Gilles had a Caesar salad. I really think it's one of the better CS's, but not as good as Flametree!! We found our spot for the lighting ceremony (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2096561180/)at the castle(while waiting a picture of the Christmas tree (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2096560464/)), then walked around for a while, before we found our spot for the parade!! We were planning to meet Aprilisis (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2095696424/) at 8 o'clock and the place was filling up fast, so I gave her a call and told her where to find me, so she could have a spot for the parade (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2096562296/). It was really nice to meet her and putting a face to a name!! We talked like we were old friends!!! During the parade more of the CM's in the parade were wishing me a Happy birthday!!! I even got a happy birthday from Alice in Wonderland during the parade!!
After the parade we went our seperate ways. We headed off to get cookie and hot chocolate...yummy and it hit the spot!!! I needed to buy a sweatshirt because I was freezing cold so off shopping!!! After getting the hoodie, we found our spot for the fireworks, waited for them to begin and take more pictures of the tree lit up (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2096561686/). We talked to the people around us waiting also!!! There were a few people behind us from western Canada!!! The fireworks were beautiful, but I like the message of wishes much better!!!
After the parade, we went to Monsters Inc, Laugh Floor Comedy show. It was really funny!!! Both Gilles and I got our faces on the big screen!!! After the show we walked aound the park a little more, then decided to leave. While we were leaving, we saw the snow on Main Street (http://www.flickr.com/photos/20467943@N07/2095689772/).
We hopped on the boat and went back to WL. When we got back to our room, there was a balloon and birthday card from Mickey and Minnie!!!! It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. I had SO many birthday wishes today!!! This had to be the best birthday of my life!!! Thank you to all of you that helped make it so special!!!:hug:
