Today is Saturday and my cousin Chris drove up from Ft. Myers to spend a couple of days with us and we're going to meet my son's best friend & her family at AK today. Liam & Caroline (his best friend/girlfriend) attend school together (they are 3rd graders) and say that one day they will get married to each other.
Anyway we start off with breakfast for 10 at the Tusker House, the food was great. Alot of choices, fresh fruit, alot of different pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, potatoes, alot of African inspired dishes, quiche, it was all good. They served a "juice of the day" ours was a passion fruit/mango/pineapple combo along w/ Donald Duck orange juice and whatever else you wanted to drink. The characters came around often (Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Goofy) and handed out tambourines & maracas and led the kids in a dance. We were given a booklet with words to a song that they sing in the restaurant. (For the life of me I can't remember the name of it) I will look for it in my bag of mementos that is still packed in my suitcase.
After our huge meal we went on the safari ride (about a 20 min wait) & we saw lots of animals, I even got to take a picture of 2 lions resting in the shade. I've never seen the lions that close before. After that we went to Expedition Everest (my 1st time riding it) I didn't back out though, I rode it & even though I screamed (like a girl according to Liam) I enjoyed it. I might do it again next time. The wait wasn't that long (approx 25-30 min) then we went on to the River Rapids. I opted to baby-sit for my friends 15 month old and let everyone else ride. They got wet; but not soaked. They stayed on it 4 times back to back without getting off the last 3 rounds. Then we headed over to "It's a bugs life" that's always an enjoyment. I giggle when the 'stinger' gets me. Then we went over to the Lion King show and Liam was picked to "Roar" like a Lion. He liked that. Then during the show one of the zebras (dancers) pulled Liam, Caroline & Madeline (her sister) to go dance with them.
After the Lion King was over we left AK and Carolines family headed over to the Luau Dinner Show & we headed to Epcot for our dinner at the Coral Reef. We were seated promptly and at 6:50 we saw a diver and he pointed to Liam and held up a sign that said "Happy belated Birthday Liam; Little Dude" and the waitress brought him a personalized menu that said "Welcome back Liam" and it had pictures of him on it. He loved it.
Our meal was good; but our server was not. We order a side dish of macaroni & cheese $4.00 for Liam and we told her twice that we would pay cash for it; she ended up charging it as a meal and then couldn't/wouldn't take it off. So one of his sit down meals consisted of a $4.00 bowl of Mac & cheese. :(
We ordered the following for our meals:

Four times on Kali River Rapids without actually getting overly wet??!! That's pretty amazing!
