When do schools get out for Christmas?

We are going to be in Disney World from the 15th-21st. I teach and am actually leaving before our last day on the 18th. I was just wondering when most schools are getting out this year and how it will impact the crowds on our travel dates? Thanks in advance!

In Alabama it differs, but for most schools the last day is the 21st. For some it's the 19th.

Here in the No Virginia area (public schools at least) they are done on the 21st.

That's right-- for most schools it is the 21st since Christmas is the following Tuesday. According to another website that tracks crowds, the attendance should still be low while you are there. Should be a great week to be at Disney. But then, even a crowded week is a great week to be at Disney. Enjoy!

While I hope you have a great trip, I'm still very mad that public schools in Central Florida had to rearrange a perfectly good school schedule because of the Northerners requests.
But schools here let out for break on the 21st

I just wanted to thank everyone for the quick responses. You actually told me what I wanted to hear. We wanted the holiday experience without too major of crowds. My little boy is really good but really busy and am hoping to avoid as much wait time as possible. That's why I am leaving before school gets out. Thanks again.

Here in Philly area and suburbs most of the schools are having their last day on Friday 12/21/07.

The last day of school before break, in this part of NJ anyway, is December 21, as well.

my dd gets out on the 19th then we head out on the 21st for disney.

Our schools are out on Weds the 19th. We are taking our kids out early and leaving for WDW on the 14th. Several other families doing the same to avoid the holiday rush.

We're in Kentucky & my ds's last day before the Christmas break is also the 21st. They go to a private school, but I believe the public schools here get out that day as well.

Here in South Carolina my DS is out of school on the 19th. It is only 1/2 day and a party day, so we are leaving after he gets out on the 18th. We'll be there the 18th-22nd. See ya there!:mickey:

Central Maryland schools get out of the 21st as well. We are going for a long weedend..wed the 12th-Sun the 16th. Have a great trip!:mickey:

We went last year from the 16th through the 22nd of Dec. It was definately alot more crowded than the guide books had led us to believe. It was not too bad on our first day Friday the 16th but after that it was crowded. Probably not Christmas Eve and day crowded but alot worse than we had expected. We usually go at the end of Oct. and don't have much of a wait for rides so it was new for us. As much as we loved the Holiday decorations and stuff we would not do this again. Maybe if we had gone one week earlier it would have been better. We had to wait for our neice to get done college classes on the 15th. If you are going just to experience Disney at Christmas and are not expecting low crowds you should be very happy. WS was so crowded at Epcot that we ended up leaving because we just could not all stay together. It was shoulder to shoulder people. If you have a smaller group it should be much easier to navigate.
