Yep, a lady my wife works with bought a rocking chair at a thrift store for $20.00. Overall, it's in pretty good shape - a couple of dings and scratches and the pad needs replaced. When she got it home and was ready to do the simple restoration, she noticed a shipping label from Italy from the early 1950's. It was addressed to Mrs. Walt Disney on Carolwood Ln.(?) in California! Can you imagine...?! :faint:

Now she is on a quest to find a picture of it.

Does anyone know of any pictures (online, books, etc...) of the Disney's Carolwood home?

She says it looks like it could have been on a porch - she can picture Lilian rocking it on the porch, watching Walt play with his trains in the backyard. :train:

BTW, it's not for sale. My DW already asked.

Oh my goodness! Make sure that she never lets that go! I'd probably flip out knowing something I owned once belonged to someone in the Disney family.

Wow, that ranks right up there with the costumers from Wizard of Oz going to a thrift store and winding up with a coat with L Frank Baum's name in it (for the record, it is the coat that he (the man who plays the Wizard and 4 other roles) wears at the beginning of the movie, as the professor).

Too cool!
