When is Disney gonna give us AP Holders a break with the dining plan.It just seems dumb that I have to buy a 1 day pass to get on the DP when I'm already a Passholder. We really like the DP but when you add in the cost of a 1 day pass it totally stops it from being a good deal unless you stay for 10 days or so .

Remember, you can buy the one day pass, hold onto it, and them use it to upgrade to an AP the next time you need one! :mickey:

I am  on buying the one day pass. You will still need to book a package to get DDP, right? We are getting APs in Jan.

You also lose the AP room rate if it available. I rpiced it out for 4 day stay when the AP room were available.

Pop Century AP Rate $59 X 3 nights = $177

Pop Century Rack Rate $99 X 3 Nights= $297

DDP $38.00 Per Day X 4 = $155.96

$155.96 + $120(extra Room cost) = $275.96

$275.96 + $71(1 Day MYW) = $346.96

$346.96/4 days = $86.74 Per Day for DDP (not Including Taxes)

I know people are going to say but I can use the $71 towards my next AP but that's still a big per day out of pocket expense for the DDP.

Which when you break it down by meal options it becomes less of a value

Average CS $10-$12
Average TS $30-$40
Snack Option $4

Even before I had my AP, I was not a big fan of the DDP. I seemed to always have snacks left over, and not enough TS options. The OP is definatly correct in that the underlying value of the AP is slowll being degraded. I now go at least once every other month, and do not even want to discuss the $$ that I spend. Maybe they need to start a frequent visitor program with reward points????
