WDW in January

Hi! When do the holiday crowds drop off in January? We have reservations the 1-11 of 2009 at the campground. I'm expecting it to be insane during the first few days and hopefully die down! Who knows, maybe I'll run the marathon while I'm there! Isn't there a first time for everything?!:mickey:

I was wondering the same thing...though I certainly am not in the shape to run a marathon!!!:blush:

My understanding is that many schools don't go back until around the 6th of January this year. I would expect crowds would remain at least moderate, perhaps heavy, until around that date.

As Faline mentioned, I would expect crowds to still be heavy until Monday January 7th, when most schools all over the country start back up.

I think as long as you have a good game plan, expect the possibility of large crowds and perhaps avoid MK until the 7th, you should be good.

Being realistic, so you aren't thrown off when you see it at its worse is always the first tip! I know that is what we are doing. Our vacation is Jan. 5th-10th.

We will be there 1-1-08 thru 1-13-08 and are hoping for low crowds too. I am hearing the same thing about after the 7th but I have recently changed some ADRs and had no problem getting prime times are prime locations during both weeks so maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised!

I called for ADRs last week for 1/1 Clam Bake, 1/2 Cali grill, 1/3 Boma and had my pick of any time I wanted. Only Cali grill was unavailable during WISHES times but that's normal. I am going 1/1-1/5 and am also hoping for the best.
