For about eight months after the Magic Kingdom's opening, the only station on the Walt Disney World Railroad line was at Main Street, USA , making the ride a "D-Ticket," round-trip attraction. In 1972, the first Frontierland Railroad Station was constructed near the Pecos Bill Cafe, marking the westernmost point of Frontierland for nineteen years. In preparation for the building of Splash Mountain , the station was torn down in 1990. In December 1991, a new station opened as part of Splash Mountain . In 1988, a third station was constructed as part of the addition of the new "Mickey's Birthdayland."
