For eight nights my family and I stayed at the Poly in Samoa rooms 1606 and 1607 from 9/5/2007-9/13/2007.
Each day started with us walking out our sliding glass door and having breakfast at the pool. Each day started with the skies crystal blue and the temps in the 80's. It wasn’t until around 11 or 12 that some clouds moved in; but it was HOT and sunny 90% of the days. It did rain (sometimes hard) almost every night, but only for about 1-2 hours; and then cleared out.
We swam, went down the Volcano slide (1 million times), played on the beach and had our lunch. To mix things up a bit I did rent a 2 seater motor boat 3 times and zoomed across the lakes between the Poly and WL. On days when we did not go to the parks, I had our wonderful server get daiquiris or Rum Runners. My kids loved the virgin daiquiris.
On days we did go to the parks, we went at night (5pm and later). By then the parks had cleared out and there was little to no wait on any/all of the rides. In fact, we only waited for 10 minutes to do big thunder mountain and 25 minutes to do Soarin standby.
We had dinner at O'hanna, Booma, Kona Café and in the parks.
This was the best, most relaxing vacation ever. Over the 8 nights we only went to the parks 4 times.
