hockey anyone?

Well, I know most of my VMK buddies enjoy a nice hockey season. So when I joined a fantasy hockey team and did my live draft, I wondered if anyone from Intercot would enjoy me making a second league and having some nice competition between us (and maybe a couple friends of us). Anyways, before I start the league I gotta know if there is enough people to want to do it. Anyone? :mickey:

I got an idea. What if the loser for each week has to buy that week's new items released in VMK for everyone in the league :D

I think I have finally gotten this rotisserie type of league. 15 categories, ranked by the number of whatever we get in each categories. So first gets 6 if you were first in that category and if there are 6 teams. In case you have no idea what I am talking about, read here:


In a Rotisserie League, fantasy teams are ranked from first to last in each of several statistical categories. Points are then awarded according to the order of finish in each category and are totaled to determine an overall score and place.

So, if you're in a 12-team league, the team with the most goals scored receives 12 points, the team with the second most receives 11 points, and so on. In the case of a tie, each team involved receives an average of the total points due. So, in the example above, if two teams were tied for first in assists, each would receive 11.5 points [(12 + 11) / 2 = 11.5].

Therefore, the maximum number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories within a league multiplied by the number of teams in the league. Similarly, the lowest number of points that a team can earn is equal to the number of scoring categories multiplied by one, which is the lowest score that can be achieved in any category.

So, if you were playing in a league with 12 teams and 12 scoring categories, the lowest point total possible is 12 [12 * 1 = 12] and the highest is 144 [12 * 12 = 144].

Rankings within the individual scoring categories (G, A, etc.) are based on the cumulative stats earned by all active players during the season and not on any individual day or game.

Therefore, the overall ranking of your team rises and falls depending on how it performs relative to the performance of other league members. So, the phenomenon of "losing points" can be explained as your rank falling in one or more of the statistical categories used in your league.

All non head-to-head Public Leagues use rotisserie scoring and the same default configuration. Custom Leagues can use rotisserie, head-to-head, or fantasy point scoring, and all are totally customizable.

One of your goalies is day to day with an injury, the other is only going to play about half the season. Under the headline Hockey '07, there is a bunch of tabs, one has the title: my team. In there you can check out your roster and change all of your line ups if necessary!

Set up your line-ups for each day. Basically go day by day and play people who are playing that day. The only way you really have to choose anything is if all of your players are playing that night and then you have to choose who to bench.

Daily! I don't even know who's in my line up, what they even do, and how to get to look at it. And I have what time to do this? They block me at work. :noway:

they have an opponents list on the site when you set up your line up. You know who is playing that day.

To win the league, you need the most points in each catagory from your starting line up. so make sure if someone isn't playing one day and a bench player is, switch them out!

Points: If you have the most goals scored in the league, we have 9 players (i think) then you have 9 points. If you have the second most goals, 8 points, and so on. Al lcatagories work like that ( I think)

I have to say the previous times I played Yahoo Hockey we choose the head to head format and it was much more fun and competitive.

Sorry fan, just checked, we are stuck in an oddball scoring system the remainder of the season. I am sorry though. If I had known how it would have all panned out in the long run, I would have chose a head to head league, I just wasn't sure of how the whole fantasy thing would work out. Although I still don't get how 4 goals 3 assists with some power Play Points and Game Winning Goal only translates into 2.5 points :confused: And that was just in one game

JP, You aren't the only one confused. My dad can't figure out why he has had 63 points for the past week. I know yesterday I had 4 goals as well, but that was in one game. I think that is the most frustrating thing about rotisserie. You get 4 goals, but someone else might get 5 and you move no where!

I think that we used all of the stats from the entire year. So basically towards the end since stats are way high and lots of them, they aren't going to change much and you won't be able to pass many people like in the beginning.

Couple things I have noticed the past few days. I have a commanding lead on all goaltending statistics besides goals allowed. That's basically the only reason why I have my lead anymore. Tea is right, Luongo has gotten three straight shutouts for her.

With the season now being over, I want to thank everyone for a lot of fun, except fan, who made life incredibly miserable... haha

Even though I didn't win, I am extremely grateful I:
1) beat my dad, especially since he won $5 off me for the NCAA brackets...
2) I had my team make playoffs, GO SHARKS!!!! :mickey:
