Great minds, Michael. I was just coming to post this.

Way to go Sally Field and America Ferrera!! :clappy: My two favorite shows!

And congrats to 'The Sopranos' for going out on a high note.

I'm pretty happy with all the winners.

I was happy to see 30 ROCK win for outstanding comedy series. Also happy to see America Ferera win for UGLY BETTY, and Terry O'Quinn win for LOST. AMAZING RACE is my favorite reality show after BIG BROTHER, and won another well deserved emmy.

I just finished watching the show, and I was impressed. I liked how fast paced it was, and the 'in the round' stage was a nice change.

I really didn't like the "in the round" set up. Performers and presenters looked uncomfortable to me, a lot of pacing as if no one knew quite where to stand and didn't want to offend people behind them. The pacing was not pleasant for me to watch. But the pace of the show did move along and that was fine. I thought Heidi Klum looked amazing. A lot of the dresses were gorgeous and I didn't really see any glaring fashion missteps-- except for Ellen Pompeo's hairdo.

I thought the Emmys were pretty awful this year. I can't put my finger on it but they were just boring, and it seemed like every other category was something to do with a miniseries or movie! Where were the actual television shows? It seemed like maybe the last hour had the awards I really wanted to see, the rest of it was just a snoozer. :sleepin: I think I turned to Tom when it was over and said, "That's 3 hours of my life I'll never get back!" I didn't care for the in-the-round thing either.

And House didn't win, it never wins, so I was upset about that. I love Hugh Laurie, he should have won!

I really only watched about the last 45 minutes because the only thing I cared about was The Sopranos. That and ER are the only prime time shows I watch (or did watch) and I kinda figured Forrest Whitaker wouldn't win for ER (although I think he should have ).

What was up with all of the commercials?? They would give an award, then cut to commercials - over and over again. I think even one time they came back from commercials just to announce that they would return right after some more commercials. What a waste of time. They could wrap that show up in 3 hours no problem if they just didn't dilly dally around. I also thought the winners seemed rather awkward in the round.

I was bummed that James Gandolfini and Edie Falco didn't win in their categories but just as pleased as could be that they did win best drama.

Awards shows are usually sleepers but this was definitely one of the worst in recent years, IMO. Not quite as bad as the MTV awards last week, but pretty bad.
