When to book and start planning?

I think we are going again this year at the end of May. I am wishing some of my family would join us but they are all noncommital. When should I book my room? When do I need to start making ADRs?

The 180 day mark for May 1, 2008 is Nov.3 .

I'd make your room or package reservations as soon as you finalize your dates and would suggest using Magical Journeys (http://www.yourmagicaljourneys.com/).

Plus, you'd already be getting close to your opportunity to make dining reservations so you can also begin your planning in earnest!

I already booked my trip to October of 2008, and have my package. I just can't make my ADRs until April, which is good for me, 'cause I take forever to make decisions, so the further in advance, the happier I am.

We are going to the POLY in May 2008 and have already booked our room. We were afraid that they would run out of rooms since there is a limited amount of concierge rooms available. I would not wait past the 180 day mark so that you can book the package and plan yourADR's at the same time. Hopefully by Nov3rd the park calender will be out for May.
