Day 1 August 28th (my birthday)
Our travel party:
Me (39), DH (42), DD (11), DS (8)
Sis (36), BIL (36), Nephew (8) Niece (5) Niece (3)
Mom (64)
We leave Atlantic city at 1pm ahead of schedule and everyone is really excited and well behaved (always a possible issue with 5 kids).
We land in Orlando 15 minutes early and the fun begins. Without anyone knowing, I upgrade our van service to a Hummer Limo, to say the least everyone goes crazy when that black beauty pulls up. We ride like royalty to the Poly. People were taking pictures of the Limo when we pulled up, kids pose for great photo ops. Enter the Poly after a 30 year hiatus. We check in to find out that the fax we sent 4 days prior was received and honored to the extreme. For example: we requested rooms together, if not an adjoining room with my mom and one of us. We requested the tokelau longhouse, for convenience with the 5 children, they not only arranged that but put us near the elevator and with a magic kingdom view (castle). We stroll around the lobby taking in the sights and finding our way. We quick changed and then headed to the Concourse Steakhouse for the first time. Yummy, and with the free dining LOTS OF FOOD < After dinner we headed back to the Poly for a swim, the kids think the pool is too cool!! Then we grab a lounge chair and a frozen drink and watch the fireworks and the water show from the beach at Poly. Then we returned to our room fat, happy and relaxed!! Tomorrow is another day.
