This day was supposed to begin early, with a visit to MK for amEMH before heading over to the Contemporary for a 10:40 ADR at Concourse Steakhouse. However, when the alarm went off I realized that I had a migraine. So the plan quickly changed to me taking 2 Excedrin migraine (SO glad I brought that along!) and going back to sleep until 9. I felt a little better after waking up the second time, and I got up and met Amanda at the Contemporary. She was really tired from her all night inventory shift at work, but we had a great breakfast. We shared a Sticky Mickey and I had an omelet. Both were really good.
After breakfast, we were going to head to Epcot to catch what we had missed before. Well, she decided that she needed to sleep, but she wanted to go to CBR instead of all the way back to her CP housing. So, we took the monorail to Epcot, entered the park, and then I gave her my room key and she caught the bus to CBR. I did the rest of the World Showcase (Maelstrom and the Mexico Gran Fiesta) and decided that Mission Space and Test Track would be a recipe for disaster with my lingering headache. I was going to do Universe of Energy because I can’t remember the last time I’ve done that, but the 45 minute length along with the incoming clouds (I wanted to swim) made me decide to just go back. The sun, heat, and walking was making my headache worse, so I left Epcot. I feel better knowing that we will be doing Epcot at the Intercot meet, and that I’ve done basically everything there before at some point.
I made it back to CBR and went for a swim in the OPR pool. It felt good in the heat; I swam for about 30 or 40 minutes before I decided to head back to get ready for the Pirate & Princess Party. I was only planning to go to the P&P Party on the 18th, but when Amanda got her schedule for the week she had a night off on one of the party nights so I decided to go again. I’m so glad I did; it was even better with her.
She had gone somewhere, and we decided to meet at MK. We wanted to get there early because not everything is open at the party and we wanted an ice cream sandwich from the Main Street Bakery and also because I needed to go to VMK Central to turn in some quests. I got to MK in time to go to Pinocchio’s Village Haus for a pizza for dinner and I got my VMK stuff done and I got my ice cream sandwich before the party started. Yay! Once the party started, we went to go watch the Laugh Floor but it had technical difficulties so we left. The first couple of minutes were okay but then it stopped and we were able to leave. We did not go back. I would hate to be up on the screen, so I was secretly glad it broke down! We were able to get all the treasure spots and we did everything in Fantasyland. We also did Space Mountain and PotC. We saw the fireworks from the hub…right in front of the castle! We saw the late parade from near Splash Mountain. Then we went on Splash Mountain and Big Thunder. On the way out of the park we browsed a bit on Main Street. I saw a CM leading a family of about 4 or 5 down Main Street towards the Castle. They all had on a button for the Year of a Million Dreams. I wonder if they were the family that won a night in the castle.
We both caught the bus back to CBR. The original plan was for me to pack everything up so I’d be ready the next morning, but that just didn’t happen. I was too tired so I went to sleep instead.
