Wednesday August 22 day 6
Today was sleep late day. We didn't wake until after 9am. My friend John went down to the pool as we rented the cabana for the whole day 10 am to 7pm. There are 2 cabanas to be rented and since the other was free we grabbed that one also until 2pm. The cabana is very nice with a tv, dvd player, sirius radio and fridge full of water, sodas and jucie boxes. There was a basket of fruit on the table also. The pool was a bit chilly but I assume that was because it was early.

It was a very relaxing day. My daughter had her hair wrapped. I had more drinks at the pool bar (it was 11:45.. thats almost the afternoon) We ordered "cabana" room service and had cheeseburgers, ziti, fries, PB & J. Everything was good. Our friends took advantage of the slow day to do some laundry and by 4pm the younger kids went back to the room. I went up by 4:30 and the rest of us by 5pm. We had the cabana until 7pm but we had enough of the pool. In hindsight I would get the pool only for the morning hours (10 to 2) and then just hang out until you are ready to leave. I and others took a nice nap from 5 to 7 and then we had to get dressed. We had a bit of food at the food court but before that I asked the concierge to check on our Wishes cruise to make sure the boat was decorated for my friends daughter's 15th birthday. Here is a tip; if you are trying to surprise someone with a birthday cruise don't have dinner outide Gasparilla's facing the marina.
The boat had baloons and a banner and looked nice. We didnt even have to fold our stroller ..just lifted it over the narrow opening and let it sit on the boat. We drove around seven seas lagoon and bay lake for a while. We had a nice driver who was a lifeguard for Typhoon Lagoon. He set the boat for a perfect view of Wishes and then played Happy Birthday through the boats speakers. Then the music from Wishes was piped in. Wow what a difference hearing the music! Its amazing how the music is timed to the fireworks. I don't think I ever heard the music before.
Once the fireworks were over we saw the Electric Water parade was about to start. We started watching from where we were parked for wishes but then he drove the boat around the huge electric floats and we were on the other side betweem the GF boat dock and the parade. We had a front row view with no else around. It was great..you don't reaize how tall those floats are. If you ever book a wishes cruise try to do when the Fireworks are at 9pm. Back at the marina they gave us the balloons and we went up to the lounge for a drink before bed. Overall a great relaxing day.
