I probably should know this, but don't.

Can you check your luggage and check-in for your flight home at the DME stand at the resorts even if you aren't using DME to get back to MCO?

On the way back to the airport, Disney doesn't care how you get your body back to the airport.

Checking-in for your flight and checking your bags with your airline are actually not DME services. They are part of a related service called Resort Airline Check-in. There are Resort Airline Check-in desks at each resort, but there's no such thing as a DME desk at any resort.

On the way home, anyone who is flying a participating airline can use RAC, regardless of whether or not they use the DME bus or even have DME reservations. No reservations are required to use RAC.

Sillyolbear, even though you only need to be flying on a participating airline to use RAC, you also must be aware of the RAC desk hours. They are open from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and you can't check-in any later than 3 hours before your flight.
