Tuesday august 21st.
Another 6:30 wake up for everyone and we had breakfast in the lounge. Actually since I was ready before everyone else I spent a relaxing 15 minutes in the lounge by myself before everyone else was there. With the Pirate & Princess party tonight we wanted to buy some supplies before starting our day. We had seen a lot of pirate mechandise at the Poly when we were there so while I walked the path from the Gf to the Poly with my 2 older children every one else took the Monorail around. The walk beat them by about 5-10 minutes and we picked up hats and shirts and swords and eyepatches to wear tonight. A quick ride on the monorail brought us back to the GF where i ran into the building and dropped off our "loot". I grabbed some sodas from the lounge and met everyone at the bus stop.
We were heading to MGM and when we got there around 10 we walked straight to Tower of Terror for FP which were for 11:15. Beauty and the Beast was starting soon so we waited for that and when it ended it was 11:10. Only me and my friend John and his daughter went on. Everyone else was happy to wait in the shade for us. I didn't go on this 2 weeks ago with my niece ( i was happy to conivnce her it was too scary) but my friends were eager to try it so I had no choice. That had only been on the one in California and were surpised when the elevator opened and we moved through the hallway. I was happy to have the front row as you have that little wall in front of you to hold onto. I have to say that at some points we weren't sure if were being dropped or being pulled back up. It was very disorientating but fun.
Out of there we picked up FPs for Rock n Roller which were for 2 to 3pm which would be right after lunch. Not the best time to ride but what they hey. We missed the movie ride last time so we waited the 25 min or so to ride. WIll they ever add new trailers to that preshow? They held us just as were about to board..it seemed like they were having some problem. This made us about 15 minutes late for lunch at Prime Time Cafe. Half oh my kids didn't remember the place and the other half have never been there and neither have my friends so only my wife and I knew we were eating at "mom's house". The waiter started with the kids right away and we had some laughs. A strange thing happened when a girl about 7 or so sat down with us and wouldnt respond to anything we were saying. (where's your parents?, Are you OK?) I actually thought the waiter had put her up to and then the girl's father came by looking for her and told us she was autistic. The waiter had thought she was actually our daughter.
The food was good and all the kids got drinks with glow cubes. I continued my meal tradition of trying the alcoholic drinks and got some blue drink with a glowcube. My youngest daughter wanted to cubes when she ordered her drink but I just got her one. Well my son asked if he could have the cube from my drink, and without thinking one way or the other i gave it to him. Well immediately as the waiter got back he somehow noticed I had no glowcube and my son had 2 and remembered my daughter had wanted 2. Well I got in trouble for that and had to stand up. He told me I had to sing I'm a little teapot but i told him i didn't remember the words. Well he was KIND enough to remind of them and I sang the song complete with my arms acting as handle and spout. My friends were shocked but hysterical. It was very funny.
When we got out John and I headed for RockNRoller while everyone else staked out a spot for the 3pm parade. The FP line was a bit long and after waiting about 5minutes an announcement came on that the ride was down but would resume 'soon' I really did not want to miss the parade so we waited as long as we could and as were about to get off the line started moving. I hate the waiting they make you do when you are about to take off...my stomach can't handle it.
Once off the ride we called my wife on the cell and found they were near the beginning of the park sitting on a bench and the curb. While they had been waiting my friends daughter was given a ticket by a cop for "being lazy" and a few other funny offenses that he checked off on the ticket. My daughter and son were picked by the Director to help him 'film' a scene and I was shocked they weren't too shy and they actually did it. My son had to walk like a cowboy and my daughter had to help pick up pretend trash. They were given Magical moment certificates for helping.
I love the Stars and Motor Cars parade..i love the catchy music, i love the characters and my sons loves cars. I'm a bit sad that it is ending this year but I am looking forward to the Block Party Parade next year. I filmed the whole parade and were all dancing around by the time it was over.
After a bus ride to the GF we went down to the pool for about an hour until 5:30. We showered and got dresses for the party. We wore pirates of the carribean shirts, mikey hats with a pirate theme and eye patches which didnt last long.

At the MK we picked up our loot bags and headed in.

The party was pretty empty which was what i hoped for for a tuesday. We started in fantasyland at Sebastian's under the sea dance party. Sebastian flounder and some fish creatures were dancing and we picked up candy and beads at the treasure stations.

It was so empty the kids even got to ride dumbo. This early in the party you had to show your wrist bands to get from hub into each land and again walking between lands.

We did a bunch of rides and in Adventureland they had an Alladin show with an Alladin who either sounded exactly like the movie or it was recorded and you couldnt tell.

Outside Pirates we saw Jack Sparrow and after getting off that ride we headed to the hub to see the parade. We on the left side of the hub so didnt have the best view since the parade goes in front of the castle and then down the right side of the hub but it was good enough. The floats were great and my daughter loved seeing tinkerbell. It was crazy when jack sparrow rode by. A group of teen girls started screaming at him and he gave them a wave which made them scream more. When he passed they ran down the hub to scream whenhe passed again.

After the parade we rode buzz twice, enjoyed Blue Line, Space mountain and when we got on line for the race cars the fireworks went off. It was interesting to be in the park finally for the show and we could see some being shot off close to us. After a few more rides we walked past the parade in its second show and the monorail back to the GF where we remembered that we hadnt eaten dinner. We ordered room service and went to bed too late.
But that was okay as tomorrow is rest day where we enjoy the cabanas, give my friends daughter her 15th birthday surprise, and find the absolute BEST area to watch the water parade.
