Construction @Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Has anyone stayed at AKL recently that can fill me in on the construction? I'm considering upgrading my current reservation to AKL, but am concerned about the construction issues. Another concern is that the discount is only availabe on standard rooms, which probably means parking lot view.

I have not stayed since construction but when I called about an upgrade I was told the only rooms left were parking lot view (Dec 12-17, 2007). Also the CM recommended I go with my second choice of Wilderness Lodge, due to the construction at AKL. She said even though the construction is on the top two floors you will still see and hear the workers in the lobby and through out the resort.
