Friday - Epcot

Cast - me 38, DH Phil also 38, DD Stephanie 12 and DD Megan 7

It's off to Epcot again! We arrive shortly after opening and head over to MS to grab a FP, then do some shopping in Mouse Gear. Steph wants to see Figment - he and Tink are her favorite characters. He's nowhere to be seen outside so we ask the CM outside . He says he'll be there later and if the door is closed, Figment's not home. We ride JII and check for Figment again - nope, he's not out and the door's still closed. It's time for the FP so we go to MS and blast off for Mars. After we land, we go back to Imagination to look for Figment again. He's still not out and the door is still closed so I decided to ask the CM again. It's a different CM and she tells us that he should be there and is probably inside. We go and check and sure enough, Figment is there. Steph is so happy! (http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/14295/2463352650102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) We ate lunch at the Electric Umbrella - first time here. We were upstairs and the girls enjoyed the dancing fountain although we couldn't hear the music. I don't know if they don't play it inside or it was just too noisy to hear. After lunch, we headed off to WS, skipping Canada, the UK, and France since we had already spent some time there. We wandered through the shops of Morocco then went into the big shop in Japan. I never knew that there was a little jewelry section on the side - the pearls are absolutely beautiful but the prices are not! One string of multicolored pearls cost more that both of our cars combined! Stephanie (http://inlinethumb39.webshots.com/12070/2681051940102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) and Megan (http://inlinethumb55.webshots.com/12022/2352240500102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) tried on kimonos and I had a hard time telling them "no" when they wanted to buy them. We watched Miyuki for a few minutes but she was almost done when we got there. When she finished, we headed back to France to see Belle and Beast (http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/12959/2458598550102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) since their "friend" told us what time to come back - they were going on a break when we passed before. Continuing back on our journey around the world, we came upon the fife and drum corp (http://inlinethumb33.webshots.com/14176/2559799380102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) at the American Adventure then went inside for the Voices of Liberty. Someone across the room was waving furiously at us - it was John and Karen's family! Megan was so thrilled to see Kaylee again and I think it's the first time she actually paid attention to the show. Unfortunately, they couldn't stay for the American Adventure so we parted ways again - they were off to an early dinner and we went to see the AA. After, it was nearly time for Miyuki to make another appearance so we went back and were the first ones at her stand. The girls decided if they got picked, they would only get one lollipop and share it. Miyuki did pick them and they decided on a panda - it's a mama panda sitting in a pink chair and holding her baby panda who's wrapped in a yellow blanket (http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/11164/2635676480102032678S600x600Q85.jpg). They were so excited to have been chosen! When she was done, we went over to Germany where we watched the trains (http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/13017/2429692580102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) and poked around in the shops. We had dinner at the Biergarten (http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/11687/2815346110102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)- we've never been here either and it certainly wasn't what we expected when we walked inside. It was beautiful - like being in the German countryside (http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/12673/2646253800102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)! The food was really good and the show was great (http://inlinethumb62.webshots.com/11773/2856518680102032678S600x600Q85.jpg). After dinner, we explored China then went to Norway where we tried to get FP for Maelstrom due to a posted wait time of 30 min but the machines shut off just as we got there. We decided that if we could only see 1 more attraction then we would ride the Mexican boat ride. I like the redo - it's rather cute chasing Donald (http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/11064/2937823100102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) rather than being hit in the face with all of those tourism ads. We finished quickly and had time to go back to ride Maelstrom. Stephanie complained that her feet hurt - she had developed multiple blisters. After the ride I had to take her shopping for socks. The ones there in Norway were $11 for the "performance" moisture-wicking variety. However, I wasn't interested in chasing all over Epcot for socks so the $11 pair it was. Megan shopped for my best friend who has an obsession with Lucky Trolls. Meg has to buy her a new one every year. She also has to have a picture with this big guy (http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/13541/2497735600102032678S600x600Q85.jpg). By now, it was almost time for Illuminations but we decided to skip it since we had watched it Monday. We wanted to beat the crowds to the buses and turn in a bit early. One last stop to visit our Legacy tile (http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/13576/2327966680102032678S600x600Q85.jpg), and we were on our way home for the night. When we arrived back at the resort (http://inlinethumb33.webshots.com/10912/2309029250102032678S600x600Q85.jpg), the girls wanted a snack so we stopped in the food court. It was the premier of HSM 2 and of course, it was playing on the tv in the seating area so we had to sit and watch the last 45 min. When it was over, we headed off to bed and a P&P party tomorrow!

Kathy~

So what cracks me up about your pics is that Megan has the Yeti in every one! Most kids get the stuffed animal then is stays in the room!

Megan reminds me of my niece, she got a baby ewok on our last trip, she attached it to her wrist every morning so it is in every pic we have.

Looks like you all had a wonderful time!!

DJYeah, usually when the girls get a new toy, it has to stay at the resort but Fluffy was a bit of a bribe although I'm not sure on who's part. Megan agreed to ride the thrill rides she's never done before but only if Fluffy came along.

Very nice Epcot day! Thanks! I've now been talked into sewing them kimonos that they plan to wear for Halloween. They did look really cute and I had a hard time not purchasing these ones! If they had been less expensive, I probably would have (DH said the same thing).

Another wonderful day! And you went to one of my favorite attractions at Epcot: Mouse Gears! ;)

Okay... two of you are now saying how good Biergarten is... with so many restaurants closed right now, it might just be a viable choice.

Glad you found socks! The blisters would have slowed you down. We also tried Biergarten for the first time and really enjoyed it- so pretty in there! Not too fond of the food, but it wasn't bad. Worth it for the atmosphere and the band. The kimonos were cute, too. It is hard to say no sometimes. Another great report with pictures, thanks.
